Really? What (A)D&D adventure module showcased firearms being used? I have most of the modules from the 70s and 80s. Maybe I missed one where bullets were being fired at PC. Kindly point me to the module? Thanks.

That was 1980 by Gygax himself. Though it was more sci fi. I don’t recall if there were bullets. But laser weapons? Yep.
Actually they are not referring to the current period in time that resembles our Middle Ages, but rather Post Renaissance (when gunpowder was invented). They specifically state this as well as what I mentioned from City of the Gods when a futuristic ship crashed and introduced robots and laser weapons to the land until the Immortals nerfed it all.
The Renaissance era was (our) 14th century through the 17th century. Gunpowder was invented in the 9th century, or discovered determined by who or what you want to believe, so gunpowder can and does date that far back. That falls squarely into the realm of the middle ages, right up to the renaissance period.

Did you review the DMG section on this. That's where I got the information.
So the conversation has gone from the debate on whether or not a monk could deflect bullets, to whether or not such a topic would come up in a game, with people attempting to pull from various sources including various sourcebooks and real life.
Seems pretty off-topic to me, so let’s get back on the original topic: could they do it?
The question was answered pages ago; bullets are projectiles, Deflect Missiles works on projectiles, ergo it works on bullets, as there is no limitation specified beyond that.
I have no idea what the rest is about, seems like an exercise in moving goal posts – I mean, I guess a Monk couldn't deflect a bullet if I used wish to make it so bullets were never invented, but then it would be because there's no bullet to deflect?

Sure thing Dragon. I know we are supposed to suspend disbelief, but I honestly can't even remember Kung Fu oriented movie where the biggest baddest martial artist was able to deflect a bullet or a laser with their bare hands. Maybe this occurs in Anime and Manga stuff? If so, I don't watch/read those so maybe that's why I am unable to suspend my belief to that extreme. I don't suspect I will ever be in an adventure where this will happen either. But anyway the OP asked the question and that's my answer.

I don't remember that one, but I do remember City of the Gods had to do with robots and laser weapons. I forget the exact reason why that happened.
I hadn’t heard of City of the Gods. Seems it came out around the time my group was breaking up and I stopped playing.

Obviously I did.
The Renaissance period comes after the middle ages.
Gunpowder was invented in the middle ages.
Logically speaking, gunpowder weapons existed pre-renaissance.
They're used in the middle age periods as well as during and post-renaissance.
