"Paladins who take the Oath of Glory believe they and their companions are destined to achieve glory through deeds of heroism." Okay but assume your thumb was covering "of heroism" and then you jumped straight to the tenants of Action and Challenges. And then the Lupin the Third theme music started playing...
Given those constraints, what deities would be friendly to the notion of a Danny Ocean type paladin? Not exactly Robin Hood, but definitely still preferring to target bad guys. Like, are there any examples of paladins of Mask? Or, does Beshaba have a use for non-evil agents of "bad luck" for powerful targets? Or, heck, maybe "non-evil" isn't a priority as long as Render Rendering Hrodric, greatest autognome burglar on the Rock of Bral, doesn't burn down any orphanages (or not any that didn't deserve it). Thoughts?

Well, it should be noted that paladins don't derive their powers from a god. Instead, it's all from their oath, their conviction. So, you don't need to play up to a deity who's cool with thievery.
So, if a paladin really believes that taking down big scores will result in his name being immortalized, that's all he needs.
i was rather hoping to start off with some divine spark seeing potential in them and then they could inflate from there. while you're not wrong about the oath, that would make the origin and source of this oath of glory paladin's power... narcissism.
divine smite? look at how great i am! lay on hands? you're lucky i'm so great. aura of protection? now you're gettin' the hang of just how great i am!

see, now you're invested too. i think my solution is going to be Astral Drifter background where my guy survived a very brief encounter with Hecate, god of magic and moons. maybe he was so smitten and afraid that he told her he would give to her the moon and stars if only he could. and her response back was along the lines of "well, you'd have to be quite the gentleman thief to take's what's mine and gift it to me. don't make a lady wait."
...but i remain open to other ideas regarding brushes with the divine. i don't feel like a good paladin operates wholly on his own, cosmically. not that a patron is required, but behind it all there's going to be some holy-ish spark or a conviction held so strongly it skews towards faith. or, so i feel. shrug.

It sounds like a cool concept. I'm getting some serious Autolykus vibes from a character like that. Or you could do the more boisterous version, kind of like Conan, bragging about being the greatest thief ever and so on.

Thanks for thinking up my newest character!
