Basically I just had a random thought of a Warforged who has been living in the Underdark for years, starting as a Gloomstalker Ranger. But I want to know is what a good class/subclass to multi into. Rogue is an obvious choice and i did think of using Arcane Archer but from what I have read its very underpowered. What are your opinions?!
As gloom stalkers are invisible in the dark you could build with the Champion Fighter and go crit fishing. Particularly on an Archer with Hunter's Mark up that can be quite good.
The easiest multi classes besides fighter and rogue are Cleric and Druid. You get a ton of toys with 1 or 2 levels of cleric.

Yeah I was leaning towards fighter, going with one level then 4 ranger then 2 more into fighter since we're starting at a bit higher level.
Arcane Archer was my first thought but I've seen so many problems with the subclass
I don't know if the decision has been made but I would look at some of the battle master maneuvers. Some of them work great with ranged weapons. tripping a flying creature to knock it prone. Goading a creature that cant reach you at range. frighten to make it impossible for them to move closer to you.

The decision has kind of been made. Battle Master/Gloom stalker. BUT I cant decide on wether I two handed weapon or stay ranged with a bow. With a breastplate it doesn't impose disadvantage on stealth and I'd be using a glaive with polearm master and later on sentinel. Otherwise I can use feats for a longbow or crossbow.

What're your stats? What fighting style did you pick for Ranger?
