I did not see this in the forums and would like feedback. Most of us are aware of steady aim giving advantage to a rogue's attack with normal tradeoff of no movement. If a rogue (or multi-class) uses the ready action with steady aim bonus, but does not attack during turn, would the delayed attack be normal or with advantage?
Steady Aim says that it gives you advantage "on your next attack roll on the current turn". Therefore, it doesn't apply to attacks you make on subsequent turns, including any made via the Ready action.
Wagnarokkr is correct. RAW does not allow steady aim to be used that way.
If I was the DM, I would allow it in certain contexts.
1) "I use steady aim to aim my bow at the warrior. I shout 'Don't move!' I ready an action to fire my bow at the warrior if he moves." I'd allow it assuming you haven't moved on your turn.
2) "I use steady aim to aim my bow at the mages. I ready an action to fire my bow at the first mage who casts a spell." I'd not allow it. You will need to shift your aim point depending on which mage casts a spell first.
I would also remove the benefit of steady aim if something happens to your character before the readied action is triggered that would interrupt your aim, such as being involuntarily moved, or being damaged. I would also remove your DEX bonus to AC if you choose to hold your aim while being attacked.
