I'm Playing Homebrew with friends and family and wondering, about my Hex blade 10/Eldritch Knight 3 Variant Human. Can you weapon bond with your weapon to have the ability to pull it from anywhere? Or am I missing something with weapon bond
Thank you both for helping and answering the question I am having fun with a bit of rp. I'm just still trying to get my head around things in dnd and am very grateful.
Hex warrior and Pact of the Blade Pact Weapon won't work with Shadow Blade. Just want to make sure you realize that. So you aren't attacking with CHA using a shadow blade. You will have to use STR or DEX.
I thought it would be a cool idea for your pact weapon to be weapon bound to you from EK so you can't lose your weapon.
If you took the Pact of the Blade as Warlock you already can't lose your weapon anyway.
You can use your action to create a pact weapon in your empty hand. You can choose the form that this melee weapon takes each time you create it. You are proficient with it while you wield it. This weapon counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Your pact weapon disappears if it is more than 5 feet away from you for 1 minute or more. It also disappears if you use this feature again, if you dismiss the weapon (no action required), or if you die.
You can transform one magic weapon into your pact weapon by performing a special ritual while you hold the weapon. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest.
You can then dismiss the weapon, shunting it into an extradimensional space, and it appears whenever you create your pact weapon thereafter.
It's honestly very redundant as Eldritch Knight. Unless you plan to take Invocations for your pact weapon there's no real benefit over just using the Eldritch Knight's Weapon Bond.
also if you already have a magic weapon you are better off using the eldritch knight weapon bond over pact of the blade, once your reach Fighter 5 consider switching to pact of the tome or chain.
Also spears qualify for both polarm master and hex warrior so theres that, and if remember correctly you had a 17 star so you should still be able to do decent damage with your polarm without Cha.
