if an 17th level illusion cleric was to attempt to cast the domain spell mirror image while channel divinity: invoke duplicity is active, what exactly would happen? would each duplicate generate three duplicates of their own, would i choose one duplicate that gains the benefits of mirror image, or would only i be targeted by mirror image? I can see a valid argument for each theoriy being correct and while the last one seems "more" correct since the spell has a range of self, it is i who would benefit from it but i donno

i am soup, with too many ideas (all of them very spicy) who has made sufficient homebrew material and character to last an thousand human lifetimes
I’d go with the last one, though it is the most boring. The spell has a range of self, and the invoke duplicity is not you. So there would be you and three mirror images in your square, and a pack of up to four duplicates running around each in its own square.
