As much as I like the character creation system on here, and the fact that we can make homebrew.... I think the homebrew and the forum have suffered from a severe lack of attention and polish while the character creator and dice have had a bit too much.
There are so many issues that have been pointed out for making homebrew work, and none of these systems seem to have been updated in years, possibly the entire history of the site. Want to make subclass options similar to the Dragonblood Sorcerer? Well you need to make sure you describe them and don't make them repetitive because there's no way for you to hide them in the subclass description, despite the fact that the same system is hidden for official classes.
Making a race? With subrace options? Well each subrace will appear independently in the character creator despite the fact that official races have been showing up as a drop down menu for years in the same creator. There is no reason for this to still be the way homebrew races are showing up, I know it's not an overnight fix, but it should have been done a long time ago. The system to make homebrew on this site is also extremely complicated, and not intuitive by any means. I can't count how many times I've been clicking on random things in the menus and been like "wait, THAT'S HOW YOU DO THAT?" to something i thought would be in a different menu.
Also, can we please make homebrew equipment? Why is this not an option on this site? There are so many weapon, armor, and gear ideas that people have, but if they want to make them for this site they have no choice but to make them into magic items, or add them on to the sheets of anyone who wants to use them individually.
Adding a page of homebrew guides, such as those found on page 285 of the DMG, or made by experienced homebrewers, would also be a great idea for people who want to get into homebrew, but find the process a bit too intimidating to start. All of these issues would matter a lot less if the site didn't advertise the homebrew segment on the front page, but would still matter if it didn't
The forum post have their own issues, the text editor needs a leaves a fair bit to be desired, I don't even know how many options are hidden behind having to know the source code to do them instead of just having a button, like with tables. And the fact that we can't upload images to the forum directly, but instead have to post a picture on another website just so we can use them in a forum post, weather it be to illustrate something, ask for advice/help, or even just share something to a community thread, makes the forums much more difficult to use and thereby get into the community here.
I guess you are new here. Homebrew is very low priority right now, so do not hold your breath on seeing any improvements any time soon. Beyond still have a lot of official content to implement so that takes priority over anything homebrew, and a lot of those official content basically requires the equivalent of replacing the foundation of a house while the homeowners are still living in it. It is complicated and is going to take a while. I agree the homebrew tools need some serious work, but you may want to keep your expectations low.
As for the forums, I do not think this will ever get worked on at the pace that Beyond is going, given the amount of other priorities they have to work through. I agree that it would be nice to be able to upload images directly to Beyond, but I do not think that is a good idea. Hosting data costs money, and it is simply not worth the hassle to give users the ability to upload images. Due to how trivial it is to simply upload images to an image hosting site and then linking it back to the forums, I do not think this is a huge problem.
