Hello so I was making a homebrew subclass and I added options for players to choose from. In the builder, they can see the options but they can't choose them. What should I do?
Hello, I am having this issue too with my Homebrew Class. The issue is that when in the character builder you can select these options and when you do it loads for a bit and it remains. However when you exit the class page and return to it the feature options return to the default selection one. Inspecting the character sheet shows all of the options taken as well as no options taken and when I try to reselect the option it just adds it to the character even if it was already selected before so i have my features page on my character sheet with the same options shown over and over. It would be similar to if I choose a Quicken Spell Metamagic option on my Sorcerer and it would appear twice under Metamagic feat on my class features page.
You've checked the Is Granted? box for the options, which means those options are automatically granted. You should un-check this box for your options.
Working on a Homebrew Subclass as well (Licensed 3rd party that I don't plan on publishing) Having the same issue. Needing a 1st level feature to give the option between two skill proficiencies. Made sure the Is Granted box was not selected for each of the options. Here's the link for a Mod or Admin:
What a simple mistake. Thank you so much for your help! Like the Is Granted box, it was so easily overlooked if you didn't know to look for it. I hope that solves everyone else's issue with it or it's as easy of a fix.
Thanks a lot that fixed it Thanks. Do you also know if there is a way for a modifier for one of these options appear at a later level. Currently I have it implemented as a different option but ideally I would want it automatically added in for my players.
The best way to do this is to create a subclass feature at level 6 with options (this is important), and hide it in both the sheet and builder:
In this hidden subclass feature, Add an Option, and set it up with Is Granted? checked, and also requiring the Prerequisite Class Feature Option of the earlier Option to be upgraded:
Add the Modifier for the 6th-level upgrade to this Option, which will only be granted to the character if Gladiator is selected in the 3rd-level feature.
Hello! I'm having trouble adding an expanded spell list to my homebrew subclass. I've added the spells themselves, but they show up as "at will" spells on the character sheet. please help.
When you added the spells did you mark down that it consumes a spell slot. It defaults to no so make sure you have it marked as yes. That is what I did to fix it
I see you've also included the spells in the Additional Specific Spells section of the main section of the subclass:
This is likely what is causing your issue. Try removing these, and everything should work correctly! (Note that it might take 15–20 minutes to update on the character sheet due to caching; you can try to speed this up by removing the subclass and adding it back to the character.)

Can you post a link here to the homebrew subclass so that a forum mod or admin can have a look? It doesn't need to be published.

You haven't checked the Has Options? box in the feature (next to Required Class Level and Display Order).

I see this is for the Gladiator option.

This is great thanks again for the tip

Yeah I double checked but no dice
