Really excited that the DDB service is available to test and I am totally ready to give as much feedback as possible.
This thread will mostly be feedback on the mobile web app for now as it's what I will be using during my gaming session and I will try to update it as much as possible when I come across new scenarios ECT.
First Use;
•The interface is very easy to move around though it did take me a few seconds to get my bearings, the only reason for this I could imagine is the menu being on the right side when usually it's on the left.
•One thing I am really happy with and can see the future application of is the ability to pick out select monsters by type (Humanoid, fey, zombie) and being able to select a few gives me a huge ease of access but I will have more to say on that after I play a game with this feature. It's also great that this feature is on things like magical items and spells as well.
•Much like the ability to pick by type, it is also a nice bonus to be able to filter monsters by combat rating.
✓Overall what I have seen so far of the mobile web app is great! Easy to navigate, simple selection tools for quick grabbing items and monsters and nice art which relates to the physical books gives it all a very official and professional feel which is something that is very much lacking in online references and 5e apps you can find on the app store. I will be using DDB in my game tonight so I will have more feedback I'm sure after I have used it properly but I hope this helps in some way. ✓
So far no issues. The interface is smooth and I love the left to right scroll options for the menus. Well done.
One thing I don't like is that the filters seem "clunky" compared to the rest of the site design. Everything else seems so smooth, but the filters are so big and take over my iPhone 7.
Okay so first game using DDB is done and overall I found it a huge help, I was able to pick up the enemies before the game and have them up and ready to go. I kind of feel though that I was using both the physical books and the app together which isn't really a bad thing but maybe I could try and learn to use the app only.
A few things that would be a nice addition would be the ability to save a group of monsters that I would need to have ready for my campaign, or a list of items that would be available to my players in a dungeon.
✨I have recommended that my players get onto DDB as not all of them have the phb and I would be interested to know how they use it during the gaming session.✨
Not sure if it's just me being a weirdo and pressing the side menu button again and again but I have been noticing a small possible graphical glitch when on the profile page and with the side menu open
It looks like if you highlight something on the main page you can see it through the menu.
Found another possible issue with the web app whilst trying to make the last post with a screenshot of the bug.
• When using the web app in vertical mode you don't seem to get all the same forum functions (upvoting and the full text editor)
• I have seen a few people posting images and it doesn't seem to be working for me when using the web app, could be the image is too large or some other reason.
• Multi quote and the "tool" drop down menu is also missing when in vertical mode
• When in vertical mode I can't find the follow function when in a thread or on someone's profile.
• The "tools" and "search" buttons are lost when in vertical mode and when you click them in horizontal mode it takes you to a new page rather than a drop down menu which it looks like it should be.
• Clicking on the drop down menu above someone's profile picture in a thread shows the menu for a moment before taking you to their profile page (I'm assuming it's not supposed to do this as there are functions on the drop down menu)

Thanks for kickstarting this topic. My two cents:

Again, could just be me. 😅
