By default, the legendary actions, mythic actions and lair actions have placeholder text filled out when you create a new monster. However, even if you don't check the associated checkbox, the text will be displayed on the statblock. If a checkbox isn't checked, it only makes sense that the associated text isn't displayed. As-is, you have to check a box, remove the associated text, and then uncheck a box—three times if a monster doesn't have any of those features—for every monster you create. It makes no sense, and it's not a difficult thing to change.
This text is present to act as a reminder, not just for homebrewers but also the content entry team who use the same base tools.
It makes sense for the text to be there as a reminder. I'd rather not have to remember the structure of legendary actions, mythic actions, and lairs. However, using that checkbox should actually mean something. Right now, if I don't check any of those checkboxes, the content still shows up in the stat block: the checkbox is meaningless. Every monster has legendary, mythic and lair actions by default unless you explicitly delete all that text, even if you don't check any of the boxes. That's the problem. I say this as someone who homebrews a ton of monsters.
Can someone look at this question again? Because it hasn't been answered. I'm encountering the same issue as well and it just looks ugly.
To remove the reminder check, you need to check the legendary/mythic action, delete the reminder text, and then uncheck it.
That's the part I don't want to have to do over and over again as someone who homebrews almost every single monster in the games I run. If I don't check the box, the text in the accompanying field should never be used in the render of the monster. As it stands, the checkbox is completely meaningless. The only thing it does is make the text in the editor look "active," but in reality you don't even need to ever check the box: you can just tab into each field and edit to your heart's content. And regardless of whether you check the box, if there is any text in the text areas, it shows up in the render of the monster.
This is a user experience no-brainer. As a user, I shouldn't be required to check a box, delete the default text, and then uncheck a box in order for my homebrew monster to not have legendary actions or lair actions. If a checkbox is unchecked, that means that a feature isn't active.
Whever I make a monster I have to delete all the info and if you make any change to the monster it adds spaces to all the boxes so you have to check them and then delete the spaces in the boxes and uncheck them. This happens to me every time. Using firefox. (By making a change I mean after saying if you come back to the monster later and edit it.
This behaviour is by design. The homebrew tools do not exist independently from the content entry tools and a change to the functionality of one changes the functionality of the other. Until the time comes that the tools diverge from one another and become their own, independent systems, content entry requirements will always have to take precedent.
When you say delete the text in that field, I assure you, I have done this, and it does not always go away. Often times they're still left there.
I used to be able to reliably remove all text in the Legendary, Mythic and Lair actions fields, and yes the headers would go away. Now however it's almost by chance that one of them goes away, and trying to re-edit the others brings it back.
Would it be possible to add a separate checkmark to opt into that turns them off? That way your designers have their reminder, and the fields only go away if a separate checkbox is marked, so that way the customers on your site, have a reliable way to fix this other than their homebrew looking janky?

Solution to remove the said legendary/mythic or anything else...
first: deletes all the text makes sure there is nothing, not even a space.
second: then uncheck the box, recheck it and uncheck it again. (don'T know why it doesn't work at first)
third: you can save your stuff and usually those sections should be gone from it.
these steps always worked for me.

Lol that worked thanks!
