I would be willing to pay a bit, up to $1.99 I suppose, for permanent character slots. Currently the only way to get them is to get a subscription, and then once the subscription ends, there'll be hassle and inconvenience.
Furthermore, I am the kind of person who feels this kind of services, where you store things (in this case DnDBeyond characters) for monthly fee, and then have hassle if you want to stop paying, have a bit of "extortion" vibe. This makes me reluctant to subscribe even for other reasons, because subscription includes this vibe.
So, I suggest you consider making it possible to buy additional, permanent character slots, which are not tied to any subscription. If it turns out to cut your overall revenue, you can always stop selling them later (but not take away already sold ones, of course!). Or you can make it a limited time offer, like the sales, I suppose, if you wan to experiment with the idea.
I mean, storing the characters costs you nothing really, so it's only matter of how much subscription sales you'd possibly lose, vs how many extra slots you'd sell, and how many extra book sales you'd get when people know they aren't limited in the amount of characters they can create from the books they buy. At the moment this is one thing that is keeping me from buying MoM as a player, for example.

wow and no one replied ☹️
I would at least say: "Thanks for your feedback"
I Agree! I would like to see the option to purchase additional character slots without a subscription
