I would really like a trsnsfer button from the pc sheet to the homebrew monster creator please. I'd like to make a faction of half-orcs in the character creator and then transfer their states and abilities into a custom homebrew monster block.
The problem is even tier 2 characters (level 5-10) tend to have more features and traits than CR20+ monsters and most of those feature will not be necessary to run it as a monster.
There is a planned monster builder that will make homebrew monsters as easy to make as characters. That will probably remove a need for this extra tool.
Yeah, it's important to note there's no fixed process for converting a pc into a monster stat block. The recommend method in the DMG is basically pick the nearest existing 'any race' stat block, give it racial traits, then maybe a few class abilities. There's no formula for covering like there is for working out encounter difficulty
Yea I see those arguments and understand that this tool is to be pretty broad spectrum to allow for ease of use so someone new doesn't ness up their CR and that there isn't a prescribe methodology. I'm just one of those guys who feels like the true monsters are the people. I like throwing 3 or 4 of my PCs at a foe that's 4 player levels ahead of them as a mini boss. That way most encounters feel like a pvp fight, which my players and I think are more intense. I get to experiment with character builds too.

A monster builder would be a great addition, especially when creating the really powerful casters so we can have their spells, spell levels, damage, etc all laid out for us.
