I'm starting to get really frustrated with the Homebrew "switch" on character sheets, and the fact that it shares my entire homebrew collection to the player. I'll be working on a homebrew, add something to my collection to look at later, or make a custom feat for a certain campaign, etc ... and players will start using it, thinking it's official content, because it's available to them through my campaign, and they have no way of knowing it's homebrew, incomplete, and/or not meant for their consumption. Also, it can spoil upcoming special monsters, magic items, or custom NPC spells/feats/etc.
I would really like to be able to group homebrew items into a named collection, and then selectively add those collections to certain Campaigns. That way, as a DM, I can separate Homebrewed items between campaigns, and hold back homebrew content while I'm working on it, so it doesn't appear for the players. It would also really help if that content was marked "homebrew" when players are looking at it, so they know it's not official content.
This has irked me lately too. +1 to this feature request. D&DBeyond's Homebrew system is one of its best selling points, but right now it's a frustrating experience for DMs in this regard.
I was literally just looking around the forums to find a place to enter the same request. At the very least I'd love a second tab in source management that just lists the items in our homebrew collections and the option to toggle each of them on or off for each campaign.
In addition to the issues ImelinCain mentioned,
What I've designed for one campaign might not be at all suitable for another.
Sure, we can have things in My Homebrew Creations without adding them to My Homebrew Collection, but this also removes the option for me myself to use it anywhere.
Some things I have not designed myself, and I am then forced to choose between sharing it with everyone--suitable or not--or losing track of it, including for my own characters, potentially forgetting it exists before the next time I need it.
Even if I as a DM make compromises in my own homebrew collection, it seems that the current solution shares everyone's homebrew collections. I'd like to toggle on/off their homebrews so that they're only available to the people who have it in their collections (similar to how owned sourcebooks work currently).
I agree. Having a dropdown checklist under Source Management in the Campaign page (And maybe also in Character Creator's "Home" section) instead of a simple Homebrew switch is the best way to address this.
I would go even further and give us the ability to filter official content as well. I've had players turn up with PCs built using Unearthed Arcana material without even knowing it.
Ideally, there would be a place where I could go in "My Campaigns" and check boxes for books and homebrew content that should be available in that campaign.

There is, if you're sharing your content. If you go into one of your campaigns, then click on 'Content Management' you can check off and on different books available. It does seem that if a player already has that content available to them, setting it on the Campaign doesn't exclude it from a character in that campaign (but I'm not 100% sure about this). IE: If I uncheck every box except PHB, a player that owns Ravnica can still select Loxodon, correct?
So, I agree in that I think the Character sheet options should have a little more granularity, too. Along with this post's topic of adding Homebrew Groups, I wouldn't mind seeing more specific content options for Character sheets, especially when I'm running a campaign for players that is limited to certain books. Maybe having Campaign Content selections that override character selections (when they join the campaign) is enough. May be worth posting a separate request for this.
I came to the forum to make the same request, so I would like to add my name to this request, please.
Not all content I create is designed for each campaign, for example, the variant background I made for a Descent into Avernus campaign is not going to apply for a Rime of the Frosmaiden campaign. Also, magic Items I create for use in one campaign aren't necessarily a good fit for another. Not to mention some players are activating content not knowing they are homebrew that the content sharer of my campaign has shared that he has for his campaigns.
A feature that lets us toggle individual items on and off in the campaign setting would be appreciated, it is almost required.

Or allowing DMs to choose what homebrew items/monsters/feats/etc players can pick from in a certain campaign
