Two part question I guess. 1st part is more specific, so I'll start with that... I was trying to create a custom action that would basically just give me a button to push for a custom attack. For example, I just want to occasionally add 2d6+3. having a button that did that would be great! I just attempted to add it and either I'm doing it wrong, or it's a glitch. I created a custom action and called it battle boost. Where it says "dice count" I set it to 2, and for dice time I selected d6. I clicked the checkbox for "display as attack" and then close the pop out window. But no matter what I do, it only shows up as 1d6. AND for some reason it's automatically added a +3 (I'm guessing that's my STR bonus being added by default) When I reopen the edit for that action it always defaults back to 1 dice count.
Part 2> Is there somewhere on DnD Beyond that actually exlpains how to create these custom actions and or custom weapons? (I've attempted to create a custom weapon too, with 2d6+modifier) and I can't seem to figure that out either.
Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy. :) Curious when you said it only happens the "first time" - I tried to re-open or "edit" the attack/action and it happened each time. Did you create a second action or how did you get it to work on your "second time"? (hope that made some sense).
That was it! Hitting the Tab button after you change it (both manually entering it and using the up/down arrows worked, but you have to hit TAB afterwards)! Sheesh, I would have never figured that out. Thanks Narhoodie! (edit: I tried it a again - using the spell option, and this time the up/down arrows did NOT work).

Thanks for any guidance.
I can at least somewhat confirm the bug.
It seems to only be when adding the attack for the first time. The dice count gets reset to 1.
However, I could then set the dice count to higher values and it worked fine.
But even though I didn't choose a linked attribute, the damage automatically adds my Strength score.
Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy. :)

You need to have the custom action be General to prevent adding an ability modifier.
It can be better to type a number into the box instead of using the arrows.
Hit Tab after changing a number value so that it's more likely to be actually saved.
