RELEASE NOTES
In Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants, Bigby the Great recounts his journeys into the history, myth, and society of giants in this guide to their realms in the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons. Here Bigby and the demigod Diancastra, child of the giants’ All-Father, Annam, unveil the secrets of Annam’s mighty descendants. Players will find a wealth of giant-themed character options: a subclass for barbarians, two backgrounds related to giants and their runic magic, and feat options that evoke the strength and primal magic of the giants. Dungeon Masters will gain inspiration for bringing giants to life, from maps of giant-built sites and big new monsters to tremendous treasures and intriguing trinkets in a giant’s bag!
Syncing Entitlements
If you don’t see any of the content from the book (preorder bonuses or otherwise), please be sure to resync your entitlements. You can do so by following these steps:
Once completed, your content should appear! If you experience any issues with accessing your content please reach out to our Support Team.
CHARACTER OPTIONS: SUBCLASS
The Path of the Giant subclass is mostly supported! While temporary benefits (such as those conferred by the barbarian’s Rage) are generally unable to be modeled directly, there are a few things to be aware of:
Elemental Cleaver
There is no system in place to infuse a weapon when you enter your rage; however, infused weapons may be added to the character sheet via Custom Actions or homebrew magic items.
Currently there is not an option to explicitly choose the damage type for the extra damage dealt.
In the Rune Magic benefit, a character is said to know a number of runes equal to half their proficiency bonus (rounded down). This limitation is currently unable to be modeled due to the feat’s implementation; it is up to the player to choose the correct number of runes (spells) according to their proficiency bonus.
CHARACTER OPTIONS: MAGIC ITEMS
Actions on Magic Items. Many new magic items grant specific actions as part of their magic; a good example is the Invoking the Rune feature of a number of these items as described by Bigby the Great. D&D Beyond does not currently support the ability to attach actions directly to magic items; we have included charges and associated spells where appropriate, but in the case that an item’ functionality is otherwise text-only, we recommend creating Custom Actions on the character sheet.
Armor of Safeguarding. This item is currently unable to provide the benefit of increasing a character’s hit point maximum.
Bigby’s Beneficent Bracelet. We cannot currently designate item charges for specific functions. This item’s single charge is tied to its casting of the spell from the Helpful Hand feature; Force Sculpture must be tracked manually.
Additionally, we cannot specify the spell attack bonus for Bigby’s hand.
Bloodshed Blade. We currently have no way to add a character’s Constitution modifier to the damage rolls of this weapon. We recommend customizing the weapon directly from the character sheet to add the appropriate bonus to damage.
Delver’s Claws. We are unable to assign weapon properties (and damage) to magic items that aren’t weapons. (The delver’s claws are a Wondrous Item.)
Harp of Gilded Plenty. We cannot currently designate item charges for specific functions. This item’s 5 charges are tied to its casting of the spell from the Soothing Melody feature; Feast of Plenty must be tracked manually.
[Free!]CLAIMABLE ADVENTURE: Giants of the Star Forge
Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants offers a wealth of resources to help Dungeon Masters craft their own adventures featuring some of D&D’s most enormous monsters. “Giants of the Star Forge” draws on the ideas, maps, stat blocks, and other details in the pages of that book, standing as an example of how to put all those pieces together.
In Giants of the Star Forge, the party is tasked with a daring rescue of a famed giant smith. The 16th-level adventure is inspired by resources provided in Glory of the Giants!
Have you pre-ordered the digital version only from D&D Beyond? This release is for the Early Access digital release of Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants — which is exclusive to preordering the Digital + Physical bundle via the D&D Official Store.
I had the same question, geez. I remember some of the wording when I ordered it made me uncertain about if it was for digital pre-orders, or for digital/physical pre-orders.
It really seems like it is a mistake because we can see the table of contents as if we own the book.
Honestly, it made me wish we could see the table of contents for all unowned books to help us decide if we want to purchase it.
Ah, maybe I have only tried on the app and not the site to try before, so I never realized this was the standard. Or I never tried, and just thought I did.
What is the point of prepurchasing anything anymore if I have to wait? This feels super deceptive. This is not a great look for wizards. TIme to refund my prepurchase for all of my unreleased digital content, is there any way to do this so I can get the bundle? Is there a way to upgrade my current purchase?
I made a character with the Rune Carver background and it didn't add the Rune Shaper feat by default. Is this automation going to be added eventually, or will I always have to manually add the feat after initial character creation?
I made a character with the Rune Carver background and it didn't add the Rune Shaper feat by default. Is this automation going to be added eventually, or will I always have to manually add the feat after initial character creation?
This should now be fixed! Please allow 15–20 minutes or so for caching to catch up. Thank you!
For the people upset about the Digital-Only Preorder not granting early access - I get it, and I was upset, too.
However, I've just used Archive.org to scour through the posts and articles and discussions about it from two months ago, and nothing ever states the digital-only option would release on August 1st. This was explicitly listed only on the Digital + Physical Bundle, and you even have to go off of dndbeyond.com to see it.
I understand that it's frustrating, but they didn't lie to us. The only real way around it (other than to grant early access, of course) would be to have a message explicitly stating that this order option doesn't include early access... which isn't an amazing selling point, I guess.
Quick question about DnD Beyond implementation of the Rune Shaper feat.
The text reads: 'You know a number of runes equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down), chosen from the Rune Spells table.'
But when creating a 1st level character with this feat, I am prompted to choose three options, rather than one (half the proficiency bonus rounded down).
No problem just selecting one, of course, though this leaves an (!) in the Manage Feats section of the character sheet indicating 'Choices Needed'.
I just wanted to check if I am interpreting the text of the feat correctly. It is puzzling that the text also says that the character must inscribe the runes they know after finishing a long rest, and it lasts until you finish another long rest. If there is no choice to be made, why specify this? Am I missing something?
As mentioned in the support post above, we are currently unable to restrict the number of options for the Rune Shaper feat to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down). It is currently up to the player to select the correct number.
As for the feat text instructing that the character must inscribe the runes after finishing a long rest, you might consider it similar to how a cleric or druid must spend time in meditation after a long rest to prepare new spells — some tables may not care to track that explicitly, but you or your DM may consider it necessary that your character touch the appropriate objects after a long rest to inscribe the runes!

CHARACTER OPTIONS: SUBCLASS
The Path of the Giant subclass is mostly supported! While temporary benefits (such as those conferred by the barbarian’s Rage) are generally unable to be modeled directly, there are a few things to be aware of:
Elemental Cleaver
CHARACTER OPTIONS: FEATS
Feats and Feat Options
Strike of the Giants
The Strike of the Giants feat has been split into six distinct feats, one for each giant type benefit. This has been done in order to support the feat prerequisites for the six feats which key off this choice within Strike of the Giants: Ember of the Fire Giant, Fury of the Frost Giant, Guile of the Cloud Giant, Keenness of the Stone Giant, Soul of the Storm Giant, and Vigor of the Hill Giant.
Rune Shaper
In the Rune Magic benefit, a character is said to know a number of runes equal to half their proficiency bonus (rounded down). This limitation is currently unable to be modeled due to the feat’s implementation; it is up to the player to choose the correct number of runes (spells) according to their proficiency bonus.

Expending Hit Dice. The following magic items allow for the spending of unspent Hit Dice to attain particular affects: Bloodshed Blade, Crown of the Wrath Bringer, Delver’s Claws, and Longbow of the Healing Hearth. We do not currently support the ability to spend Hit Dice outside of a Short Rest; these must be tracked manually.

I pre-ordered the content and can see it but it keeps directing me to make a purchase which states that I already own the content.
Hi HyperViper,
Have you pre-ordered the digital version only from D&D Beyond? This release is for the Early Access digital release of Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants — which is exclusive to preordering the Digital + Physical bundle via the D&D Official Store.
Oh wow that's terrible. What is this Blizzard Activision?
I had the same question, geez. I remember some of the wording when I ordered it made me uncertain about if it was for digital pre-orders, or for digital/physical pre-orders.

It made me wish I didn't pre order. On its face it seems somewhat deceptive.
website crashes every time I hit "Unlock the activation key" and i cant get the stupid key.
You may have already successfully redeemed the code. Please check whether you are able to view the content of Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants.
yup cannot access any content, did the digital-only, tried fixes opened a support ticket but can only get to the table of contents. disappointing.
The early access is only if you bought the Digital+Physical Preorder from Wizards.
If you only bought the Digital you have to wait till the 15th to access it.
This is actually the standard, you can always see the TOC pages, regardless of whether you own it or not.

Quick question about DnD Beyond implementation of the Rune Shaper feat.
