First time poster, I apologize if this has been covered somewhere that I can't find.
In our first campaign in D&D Beyond using Maps, I can't find a way as DM to keep the DM map on a separate tab or screen for viewing. If I wanted to view the DM map, I had to switch to it in the campaign, ensuring I had it covered with fog of war. I would apologize to my players, who were taken to a blank screen while I looked at the DM map, then back to the player map to continue the game.
I'm sure I'm missing something. Can someone help by telling me how to view the DM map during the campaign without having to switch live?
I'll try spectator view and see if that gets me what I want. Thinking about it, this might be how we solve for it.
Spectator view would imply if someone wants to observe the game, but, if used like you are describing, would allow me to pop out a tab of certain maps.
Saw this post and thought it was going to address the problem I was having; however, I was disappointed. While the DM vs Spectator view is great for showing what is hidden vs visible for similar maps. What I was looking for was more along the lines of having a different map shown for the DM vs the one for the spectators. Like how some campaigns provide a DM map vs a Player map. That way i could keep the DM map up as reference and then annotate the player map as needed. Is there a work around for this? Whenever I select a new map on the DM view it pulls the players to that map with me

Thanks!
Spectator view does the trick for showing players only what has been uncovered from Fog of War by the DM. Thank you!
