I am not able to save any encounter if the characters use the 2024 rules. If I use an old campaign with 2014 characters, the encounter builder works fine... There's a banner that says "Encounters (beta) calculates difficulty using 2014 rules. For 2024 calculations, create encounters in Maps." Is this why?
I click that, but you can't create encounters in Maps. That's not a thing. You can add monsters to a map and then roll initiative, but that's hardly the same as having all the monsters already added to the encounter and being able to see the stat blocks like you can with the encounter builder. I have to run even more tabs open to be able to run a game now.

The encounter builder frequently has issues saving encounters if the encounter is attached to a campaign that has invalid or incomplete characters in it. By that I mean any character where you can't open the character sheet view, only the character builder view, because something is missing — often the ability scores or the background haven't been selected.
Why does that stop you from saving an encounter with that campaign? Who the hell knows. But it's a common issue, so you might want to check for that.

That was it. Thank you! Had nothing to do with the 2024 update
It would be nice if that was what the error message said
