I've bought Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and the Master Tier subscription, yet my players get a limited selection for their subclass. One player only had the 2014 options. Then we fiddled around a bit, and I was able to get him one option from Tasha's and one from 2014. He should have had at least four options. Also, my player doesn't have access to the optional class features.
Here's what D&D beyond staff said. "Hello,
Thank you for contacting us for help! Please note that Content Sharing is limited to five Campaigns simultaneously. To ensure smooth operation, we suggest disabling Content Sharing in one campaign before activating it in another.
If this doesn't address your concern, we suggest toggling Content Sharing off and back on, while having everyone and the DM of the Campaign verify their entitlements are in sync.
Additionally, please note that if you do not own the content and are creating a character outside of the Campaign, shared content is not available, as it is restricted to use within the Campaign. However, Compendium content can be viewed outside of the Campaign without issue.
I’ll be glad to help you further if you have any other questions or concerns!"
I have deleted my old campaign, but the issue persists.
Can you give a specific example of a subclass they’re unable to select?
Was that subclass updated in the 2024 PHB? If so, they’ll need to use the 2014 version of their class in order to use the TCOE version of that subclass. Otherwise they’ll need the 2024 PHB in order to use it for the 2024 class.
I'm not sure. I thought that D&D 2024 was supposed to be backward compatible with previous stuff. Perhaps it's best to have them build it out on paper.
That applies to anything that wasn’t updated in the PHB itself. For the things that were, the expectation per the rules is to use only the latest version.
With the 2024 Rogue, for example, the PHB contained an updated version of TCOE’s Soulknife. Per the rules, that replaces the TCOE version, so that’s the only one available. Since TCOE’s Phantom was not in that book, the original version was brought forward.
Alternatively, you can continue to use all TCOE subclasses for the 2014 classes.
