Minor issue and I just need some suggestions on what else I can try for fixing this.
It works as intended on Chrome for Android on my phone (landscape viewing). When I like something in the forums, the arrow turns into an X and I quickly know if I liked something.
The problem is that Chrome and Edge on all my other devices do not change the arrow to an X. If I click the arrow again (thinking I haven't liked something - not the greatest memory here), the number increases by 1 initially, but a refresh of the page shows that the number actually decreased by 1, and I must click the arrow to reinstate my like again.
Viewing the list of likes each time to verify if I liked something is cumbersome, and I often forget to check.
I've cleared cache, cleared the entire history, and gone as far as reinstalling Chrome. Reinstalling Chrome worked for one day on one device. Reinstalling Chrome did not fix the issue on the other two devices and reinstalling Chrome where it worked for one day has not fixed it again since.
All problem devices are Windows 10 64 Bit (Home and "Pro") Version 2004. No additional software firewalls or VPNs. This happens on two completely different networks, and one device goes back and forth between them (tablet).
So, hit me with some further suggestions (other than a nuclear response of wiping the devices or getting a different one). I really dislike what Firefox has become over the years and have not tried it. (Edge is forced upon us. So, it makes sense to try it to see if it's Chrome-specific, though Edge has lots of Chrome-ish stuff in it now.)
(I will not include the Kindle Fire 8 HD+ 10 gen. Amazon does not support Chrome on it. So, I really cannot request support for the same issue on that one. That's on me. I typed "Pro" because Microsoft's version of Professional is apparently all the same annoying handholding of the Home version with some extra bits useful for business networks, which isn't very professional of them. Trivia: Windows 10's versioning of 2004 means April, 2020. So, it's really 04/20. Thought some of you might get a kick out of that. [Just keep that stuff away from me.😖])
Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
