Ive recently started using the maps encounter builder, I feel that it is really clunky. While it is nice to be able to premake a map and have all the tokens on there and hidden and set up before the gaming session, when it comes to combat, it just leaves a lot to be desired. My biggest gripe is that I keep wanting to click on the npc in the encounter builder and have their stat block pop up, this would seem intuitive. However the maps doesnt work this way. you have to go back to the map click the icon and then click view stat block. Then the stat block takes the place of the initiative and everyones health!
It would also be nice if the fog of war could have the option of placing it as blocks or in someway that there could be different segments or layers. this way instead of have to stop the momentum to erase the fog of war neatly as to not give any extra hallways away, you could click on a segmant of fog and delete it.
I use some overlays to mark treasure or secrets, right now i use pink for secrets and yellow for treasures just using the squares and triangles and what not. it would be nice to be able to label those overlays
Speaking of labels being able to have any kind of typing would be amazing! id like to label my players swordcoast map of places that they have discovered and as of now i have to use the draw function and it looks terrible.
If the stickers had a copy paste function that would be neat
