[...] your half-elf character can forgo Skill Versatility and instead take the elf trait Keen Senses or a trait based on your elf parentage:
Then it doesn't explain which parentages...
Then the next section is the list of traits of a normal Half-Elf. So this is just messing with us.
Then if we look further, only ONE of the subraces say that we may forgo the Skill Versatility feature to get its traits. However, if we look at the appropriate SCAG page, it's way clearer that each of the subraces must forgo the Skill Versatility feature to get the associated trait.
Therefore I strongly suggest the following modifications on that page:
Clarify in each subrace the price to get the new feature.
Get rid of the "Half-Elf variants" section which is basically empty and brings nothing but confusion.
Accessory: put the House Medani and House Lyrandar sections as subsection because currently they are on the same level as the subraces and there is a huge inconsitency when you check the page navigation sidebar.
The variants are listed below; aquatic, drow, high elf, mark of detection, house medani, mark of the storm, house lyrandar and wood. Those are the variants, you just have to scroll down

What I say is not that I do not know the variants: it's that it's entirely unclear. It needs to be edited so that the page can live by itself instead of being a (bad) copy/paste of all the source regarding Half-Elves.
Plus, you totally make my point for my last bullet point since you say that "Mark of Detection" is a variant, as well as "House Medani", however... the Dragonmarks page says otherwise!
As a further note, I believe there is something wrong with the conversion between the race details and character development. I just made an Aquatic Half-Elf, and the Skill Versatility ability is listed but not granted.
Seconding this. I agree that the half-elf variants section is misleading, as the Eberron variants have a different set of trait substitutions than the SCAG ones, and the format for the aquatic, drow, high, and wood half-elf sections should be more consistent since they all come from the same place. Of these, the wood half-elf section is probably the most accurate, though all of them seem to repeat themselves.
I don't think it is nearly as confusing as everyone is making it out to be, but it could (and should) be arranged more conveniently.
Half-elf traits should be listed before half-elf variant rules. Then all the SCAG half-elves should be listed. And finally the 2 Dragonmarked half-elves from eberron.
While I agree it's only slightly confusing, I believe Wind and I share the concern for the fact that it's broken, not necessarily the confusing part of it.

The Half-Elf race page is confusing.
The text of the Half-Elf variant says:
