(This may be somewhere in the threads but I didn't come across it)
I know with D&D 5E the most obvious way to create a golem is to get your hands on a Manual of Golems and be a high enough caster to use it, have the right items to make it, have the gold to make it and have the number of days needed to create a golem.
I'm playing the race of kobold which isn't a standard D&D race in a campaign whom is quite intelligent. This kobold has the dream of creating a nation for poorly treated races and small races and to protect the people of this kingdom he wants to make legions of golems.
Questions.
Once you use the manual to create a golem can you keep making the same type of golem with the gold amount, number of days required and materials needed over and over again or do you have use a manual of golems each time?
If you have to use a manual of golems each time is there a recipe to make it?
Is there some simpler way to create golems later in the game at high levels?
Well, after reading manual of golems description. It lokks like your answers are:
You need 1 manual per golem (harsh cost, but it is how it is written).
You can use magic item crafting optional rules to create a new manual, but it will effectively double the cost of the golem.
Any full caster will be able to craft a golem at level 10 or higher. Warlocks can craft golem at level 9 or higher. Half casters have to be level 19 or higher. There are no other significant advantages to being one class over another.
