I've been playing D&D for *COUGH* years and have played many builds and styles. One trap I tend to fall into is optimising my builds. I just don't seem to be able to help myself.
I was pleased to see the random character generator and have created a level 1 character. The build certainly isn’t ‘optimised’, but looking past the ‘weaknesses’ it could be fun to role play out scenarios you find yourself in without the fallback experience you have as a player.
Will you be adding a randomizer that can add levels to an existing character? One that chooses spells, abilities, feats, flaws etc. such that I have to role play to those strengths and, more importantly, weaknesses as the character progresses? I know you can randomly build a character of any level, but what I’m aiming for is consistency in the base elements of the character.
I think for seasoned players it could open some challenging yet inspiring scenarios where we have to use things we wouldn’t ever normally choose.
Cheers!
