There are quite a few icons used on the site that appear alongside search results, but there doesn't appear to be a key. For example, it's not immediately obvious that the "A"symbol next to some items means "Requires Attunement" or that the "L" next to monsters means "Legendary" (I presume). A key, or mouseover/tap callout would help.
I agree, tool-tip friendly items are always helpful if they can be done tastefully. It took me a few moments to notice the attunement icon in general and I missed the Legendary apparently. It isn't always the best idea to trust me with the guess work of what each icon could mean...
For folks who are used to the rules in and of themselves, I think that it would be okay as is with a basic legend at the beginning of a list or at the bottom of a page of results, but given that not everyone will be a seasoned player or DM, I have to agree. Some form of mouse-over explanation or an accessible key to the short-hand would be beneficial, and most likely intuitive.
I think the attunement icon should be done away with. There is the 'A' icon next to the item, a couple lines over to the attunement column is 'required', then opening the item description, the very 1st line is the item and another notation about requiring attunement. Just seems to be a bit of unnecessary redundancy.
An icon key would be a good idea to take the guess work of what they are and it would help if they were a bit bigger/clearer to see them with out having to zoom in.

The attunement icon especially was too small for me to read on my display (first world problems, I know) I had to zoom in to realise what it was.
