I bought a copy of the PHB and XGtE some time before getting a D&D Beyond account. Is there anyway to fully access the info held within those 2 books in the app without buying the books all over again through D&D Beyond?
(It would be nice to access to that stuff digitally, in case of there are situations where those books aren't present)

No. It's basically like saying you have the Kobold Press Tome of Beasts in hardback and just wanting to have the pocket version for convenience. DDB products are digital adaptations of WotC produced print materials and one doesn't give access to the other.
To get access to races and classes and other player options (like spells) without "rebuying" the book as D&D Beyond Content, if you look at either book's Marketplace page and scroll down you'll see you can buy all race options and character class options as individual or race or class bundles. If you decide to buy the whole book those purchases are credited to it.
The other option is homebrew, where you take what's in the book and put in into your account as private homebrew. Some, many, find that tedious, others find it a rewarding practice that actually increases their understanding of the game. That is, I believe the app grants you access to your homebrew.
As of May 1st you can no longer purchase ANYTHING a la carte within the D&D Beyond Marketplace. They've changed their sales model (again) and placed (most) everything on sale.
Not to use slanted rhetoric here but this is troubling. I'd much rather purchase a 3.99 class/race rather than spend $50 on an 'on sale' book that I'm NEVER going to get the full use out of. The fact that they've also done away with bundles lets us know what they thought of those deals, as well.
There's a post somewhere concerning this but I'm a bit upset and am not linking it here out of spite. It's written to look like they're doing US a favor by implementing this change, but in reality the community is onto them. At least, I HOPE everyone is onto them.....

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
Has this been stopped, can't seem to purchase a race separately on the app, but can find the option in the U.S store?
Does DND Beyond still sell the individual races and subclasses?
I can not seem to find the link.
Thanks
