I'm trying to build a campaign, and wanted to try something new to start. The players roll a percentage die to get a group of classes. Then they roll a d20 to get certain weapons for that group. After everyone has a weapon, they can trade to match what they wanted their class to be. It would support improvising from the start. i just don't know what weapons to put in each group.
Too many ways this can change - between racial proficiencies and L1 subclasses, the options are dizzying. It'd be easier to list the weapons that, guaranteed, no one wants, like a mace, sickle, or trident.
Fighter: (Here you become much more ambiguous, because are you going ranged or melee? If melee, two-weapon, one weapon, or great weapon? Divide it into three sections)
Monk: (It doesn't matter, martial arts overrides everything that counts as a monk weapon)
Paladin: Longsword/Battleaxe/Warhammer, shield, 5 javelins, chain mail

The "best" is debatable, but this is what I think (dont bully me in the replies)
Come participate in the Competition of the Finest Brews, Edition XXVIII?
My homebrew stuff:
Spells, Monsters, Magic Items, Feats, Subclasses.
I am an Archfey, but nobody seems to notice.
Extended Signature
But could I start with other weapons or gain them along the way?
