Maybe the OP got their answer to the relatively simple question. Some folks gave some thoughts on how it would work mechanically and thematically, enough to figure out the build was worth going on. No one is obligated to meet anyone's "challenge" on the board, especially if the interrogatories are prefaced with "I'm am strongly prejudiced against concepts like these." OP was looking for insight and validation, not a battle. There's rhetorical tricks to engaging a conversation, claiming your crusading antagonistically against the OP's position isn't one of them.
In other words, don't stall if you actually have something to say defending the notion that a level 2 spore druid foundation is a power move for a fighter.

I want to know, what is driving this need to MC at all? You initial post screams "power-gamer" when you say "Unless it comes out waaaaay under-powered and useless". Useless in what way? DPS? Utility?
I believe they are talking about its effectiveness in combat. And, may I add, if it’s fun for them, then it isn’t your responsibility to act like they’re stooping to a lower level by multiclassing in order to make a character that is honestly very interesting. They’ve already expressed an interest in the roleplaying implications of this character.
I have played many an MC char. I have heard all the reasons why "it makes for a more interesting RP experience". Sorry, I don't believe it. Bottom line, dips into a 2nd class are designed to power up the char. I have done it myself, all with completely legitimate "backstories and RP reasons", all the while knowing precisely why I was doing it. Same with virtually every time I have seen anyone else do it.
It saddens me you think this. There is a difference between building for pure power and just ensuring you're not a negative contributor to the party. The way the MC system is designed, there are way more terrible combinations than there are good ones, and being a burden is rarely fun.
Roleplaying and mechanics are not the opposite ends of a spectrum. I will say it over and over again. Your roleplaying doesn't magically get better or more meaningful if your character is terrible in combat or made without any consideration of mechanics whatsoever. If the backstory and RP reasons are legit, what the heck is the problem? This build isn't any better than a straight class build, the player has a character concept they want to achieve and the MC does that.
I'd love to see an analysis of exactly how OP's build is so much stronger than a straight fighter or a straight druid of the same level. Show me the powergaming. Go ahead, I'll wait.
I also am waiting, for the OP to answer my questions in my first post in this thread. Other have answered on the OP's behalf, but not the OP.
Contrary to what Reddit and 4chan might depict, walking up to someone and screaming "you're wrong, debate me!" does not actually obligate someone to talk to you.

I cannot imagine why someone might not respond to this polite request for information.
Also, I can't believe you didn't slip in a "Help, I'm bein' repressed" there while wondering why OP is ignoring you. Big missed opportunity.

Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
Of course, when someone gets mad that a person won't respond to an off-topic rant they posted and that same person refuses to engage in any of the people who point out the flaws in their rant, well, it tends to reflect on them in a specific way.

level 1 is too soon to multiclass - you're good after that
o.O
Not really, if it fits a theme. I currently have a character that started off life as a pirate. She was a bard at first level, but due to some abysmal dice rolling for stats, she was a rather poor bard. After one insult to many in the name of humour the pirate captain put her overboard, and she washed up on some beach in the middle of the wilderness. Half dead with dehydration and starvation she was rescued by a drunken master monk, who saved her and then trained her. She now has 10 levels of monk to go with that first level of bard. It works really well with her throwing out vicious mockery as a drunk monk for ranged attacks.
I, uhh, think they were joking about multiclassing at level 1 (which would be impossible), not after level 1.

MC is limited only by what you want from the character and what your DM permits. Anything else is just noise, from those on a crusade to demean and belittle it, through to those who will say it's the BEST way to build. Go for what works for YOU, in the end. Threads like this usually contain some useful info (some have already offered an analysis on the build) and mindless ranting (which seems more prevalent, and always will be)
Ignore the minions who try to say it's ONLY to make a better character, because that is such a loaded statement and incorrect in many, many ways most times. Play and build the character YOU want and need, in the end. Now my personal choice is to try and snag ASI's to get the numbers where I'd like them, before shifting class, and sometimes that puts me to taking more levels in a class than I would otherwise bother with. Of course, in that mind, I am trying to accomplish something mechanically, with the MC characters I tinker with, If it was purely thematic, I'd take whatever I felt fit best for the theme, stats and numbers be damned lol.

I think you need to reflect on the words with which you're trying to shield yourself. I don't think you followed their or my intent, they're fairly aligned. I feel the OP's build isn't really compatible with your crusade or whatever you're calling it. I provided, as have others, reasons why the OP wouldn't engage you and it's not really a reason to "withhold your thoughts." I wasn't expecting the above self-own, but I'll confess it is amusing. Wasn't looking for a fight or a win, like a self-styled crusader, just curious if you could substantially back the impetus behind your attack and maybe give you some advice on how tact actually works on this board.

While /technically/ correct (the best kind of correct according to some), the character I am getting ready to start playing next week, is /thematically/ multi-classed at level 1.
He's a wizard's appprentice who's recently pacted with a succubus (whom he then got shotgun married to, but that's irrelevant). Now, he wasn't a very /good/ wizard (13 int). Now, by /rule/ he's a single class wizard. However, to reflect his pact, he's got /one/ offensive spell that I am flavoring as having come from the succubus....mind sliver. The rest of my cantrips are utility spells that do not care about my low int such as presitigitation and mending.
The DC isn't great, but not awful. For reasons, his patron hasn't been able to grant him additional powers yet, so this cantrip's what he's got from her til level 2. At level 2, he'll have had more instruction and I will take mind sliver /again/ as a warlock spell, to represent his increased mastery of his new power. So, with a little creative re-skinning, he's a level 1 MC warlock|wizard lol.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

I think this works really well. I mean mechanically you're talking about a 1 Wizard, but conceptually you see the character as this Wizard Warlock and playing the character as if some of their magic comes from something other than the spellboook. The pacts been made, they just haven't fully grown into their rewards from it.
