Anyone know what shipping method they use to ship to Canada? I ordered two campaign cases on Nov 24th and I got a note from support that it shipped December 14th but the tracking # on my order history just takes me to my account details and I never received an email with shipping details so I have no idea how it was shipped or where it currently is. the tracking# starts with 1804 and it's 14 digits if that helps.
I had ordered the pre-release deluxe bundle Oct 1... I had to wait until 9 days after full release to get my pre-release Digital key because it had failed to be generated and sent over to my account. Not my email.. My scalefast referenced account. Now here I am Jan 6 2023 and still have not received a shipping confirmation for my order. The order is just saying verified. This whole release has been bad business from the start. it looks like it was programmed by teenagers not full on web developers. The fact that there is no good transition from the Wizards website, to scalefast, to support, to D&D Beyond is horrible. I have to approach each site different ways to just look at the requests I have made for support on different items. Each path gives me access to my different tickets even though my accounts have been linked correctly. like previously stated I'll never pre-order from WoTC and I will wait for it to land in my local game store for pick up. At least they have better expectations, delivery standards and better communication.
I received an email on the 5th of Jan that my order was finally on it's way and tracking details would be sent soon. So much for a Christmas present if it arrives two to three months late right?
Now the 10th and still nothing. And the above poster's comments that they had to pay extra taxes now has me concerned that I may have to end up paying the price of the box again.
This whole thing is a complete disaster. I'll never be ordering anything here and I've already advised all my online communities to stay the hell away from this store because of the utter silence and poor experience I've had.
I'm tempted to say "don't preorder things" again. I won't, though.
It's not just pre-ordering. I ordered my campaign cases on Nov 24th and didn't get them until Jan 4th. So the title of the thread is a much more accurate warning rather than just don't pre-order. Their issues are with any physical product order.

I believe my $28 in fees on $120 worth of items was because of import fees that they shipped in a way to incur these. If you are within the US you should be ok.

Duh, look at the video games industry.
I'm talking about how there were significant delays, poor customer service, and surprise fees when my physical product arrived and warning folks that they can expect the same thing if they order physical product from DnD as well. Their website said free 3 day shipping when I ordered but it took them 3 weeks to start shipping and another 2.5 weeks to get here then hidden import fees when it finally did arrive. If I knew what to expect I never would have ordered from them and I think it's reasonable to share so others might have more info before deciding to order physical product from them.
What does being rude andasking me to look at the video game industry have to do with this? Did you mean to reply to some other comment or thread?
I decided never to pre-order from WotC again, without being able to preview WHAT I will be getting, after their Spelljammer fiasco. No more buy a pig-in-the-poke for me. I did pre-order Dragonlance, but only after various YouTube sources put out reviews and I decided I wanted that product "as-is".
Book 1 of the Spellajmmer set was not worth the paper, or storage space, it takes up. Same for the adventure. I do appreciate the 5e conversions of the Spelljammer monsters.

All of the problems listed are applicable to the video game industry. My point is that people shouldn't be surprised when their preorders don't live up to their expectations.

The issue here isn't that the product is terrible as the video game pre-orders tend to be.
The issue here is that there's zero communication, massive delays and no benefit to the preorder.
I paid more to get the game at a reasonable time after release and to get the bonuses on D&DBeyond (which in the end, weren't worth the effort) and all of that is completely moot. I have no update where my shipment is, nearly a week after the email promising my shipping details and learnt that I may have to pay more due to the tax issue. Others ordered products that should have been in stock and still have no update when their order is coming.
None of this should have happened. This isn't them preordering and giving us a shoddy product. This is us preordering and them holding back preorders while anyone who walks in off the street gets their products before us... And then for some of us, telling us we need to pay more than anyone else because we live elsewhere.
It seem that everyone seem to be angry at the first order of the book + digital format..... There is reason to be angry this time around about some people driven by greed who are about to weaken D&D in a big way, but i'll be honest here.
I've had a great experience. Shipping to Canada. I didn't had any expectation and i could only order the Physical & Digital Formats Book package when the product was released as it was not available for pre-order. So i must have ordered within a week of its release. It must have took 2 weeks, 2 weeks and an half to receive my book? and i had access to the Digital format right away.... I didn't even care about the book as we're playing the Forgotten Realm so far so i haven't even opened it yet....but of course, i'm not the type of person that feel that they have to be the first one to be in front of the store to get the 1st copy.
In total that made me save about 10$ then if i would have purchase the online book on D&D Beyond + the physical book on amazon.ca
So yeah, i had a good experience
I'm sorry fellow Ayrkire, i don't recall which carrier they've used. I don't think it was Fedex, UPS, DHL, USPS or Amazon....it must have been one of the smaller one like Intelcom Express
I just got my deluxe bundle in the mail today, and am honestly disappointed. It came with 2 battle tiles labeled 3 (side a and b) and did not come with Battle Tile number 2 so 6 of these battle scenarios are completely unplayable as they require battle tile #2. That's $168.35 down the drain.
And here is it, basically a full month later and they still haven't replied to my request for a replacement. And now with this OGL controversy, i don't think i'm going to ever be picking up D&D material again and will probably start looking into other products made under the ORC license (A.K.A. the Open RPG Creative License from Paizo)

To those who are about to Die. We salute you!
Well the good news is the product finally arrived. Bad news is my free shipping still had customs fees to Canada of about $28. Never again.

Same as me
I'm tempted to say "don't preorder things" again. I won't, though.

Same as with Gamestop--preorders only lessen the urgency for a publisher to put out a quality product, timely.

It's disgusting and frankly, a terrible system.

I’m still waiting for my preorder. Could have got it at coles or Amazon weeks ago. Complete failure
Jeez, my deluxe bundle came like a week after release. I got lucky, I guess?
Still waiting on mine.
Still no update on shipping details yet, nearly a month after the first email confirming that it was ready to ship.
