Unfortunately, every time I attempted to click on that, it redirected me back to the physical copy. I eventually had to spam the digital button to get it to stick, but I had to click it like 20 times very quickly to get it to stick.
Wizards of the coast can put QR codes on each physical copy so that they can be unique. It unfortunately makes DnD Beyonds functionality useless for actual gameplay because most people aren't going to buy it twice. And moreover, Currently , you can't even buy a digital copy of the PHB to open up options as You are only allowed to preorder which will come ouit in September. So no digital copies till then. It's too bad because DnD beyond is a really powerful tool and makes it easy to play with laptops and ipads, etc.It would be great if they could sync that all up. They could do it if they really wanted to and make everyone happy. It would be way more accessible.

What DDB sells is so much more than an ocr'd pdf of the book, apples and oranges actually, two similar but very different products. I own both of most of the books available and they serve two very different roles and purposes. It is the character building tool that makes the digital shine, the hyperlinks are a close second!
ETA: The maps tool brings a lot to the table especially considering it is in alpha. It is an amazing tool with regular and significant updates and added content. A real value add to a master tier subscription!

Kyle Brink shot down this idea. This is a recipe either for the codes getting scanned for free in the bookstore by randos and WotC customer service being inundated with complaints, or the books being sealed up and losing the sales to people that would idly flip through them. Or both, as people unseal the books, scan the codes and reseal them.
Our best option right now are the digital+physical bundles that get you both versions at a discount. The big downside is bypassing all the FLGS, but they are the only ones getting the collector covers so they still have a reason for people to come in.
They loose sale due to people flipping through the books then coming here and just buying only what they want.
NOT ANYMORE 😭😭😭
Kidding aside, that's not really a lost sale. Someone who wouldn't have bought a book after browsing through it probably wouldn't have bought it if they weren't allowed to see inside either due to being sealed.

Agreed, though I do miss the old marketplace descriptions compared to the new in regards to what you get in the books.

Why is Chaosium able to do this with “Bits and Mortar” and WotC cannot? Any Chaosium product I buy in physical form, I get the digital files included without additional cost…just e-mail Bits and Mortar the receipt and *poof*
It’s not that the technology isn’t there. It’s not that the LGSs won’t get in-line. It’s Wizards/Hasbro squeezing folks for all the money they can. The option to not give them my money is certainly there. I’m just complaining out of frustration and hoping they’ll do better.
You will only own the Physical, the digital is not yours and you will never own that. Do not buy into this platform unless you're willing to accept that. Just look at the 2014 vs the 2024 editions and vote with your wallet.

I put a ticket in with support.
Register no. However you can use the homebrew feature for your own campaign to recreate what you have on paper for personal use.

Same for watching book review videos/written reviews online too.

Games workshop managed to pull it off with the codexes. Could r be too hard to make that a reality.
