I don't believe there is a PDF. I'm not sure if D&D Beyond have ever offered PDFs (if they have I have completely overlooked that feature). You should be able to download the book through the D&D Beyond app for easy offline reading though.
well they clearly stated in their blurb that you got the "handbook", but i guess not a pdf. Possibly that blurb was for both digital and physical pack which i didn't buy. Not very impressed with that. I guess i'll just suck it up as another corpo entity screws us over.
What about a PDF (or other form) 2024 Character Sheet?
You can export the character sheet as a PDF. Wizards hasn't done any official release of 5th edition books as PDFs. If you have a PDF of a 5th edition book, its 100% pirated.
2024 free rules are available on the creator, so there must be a way to download those too
"Download" is such a wobbly term. Can you download this sort of content in PDF form? No. Is it downloadable via the DND Beyond app for use in an offline walled garden? More likely.
DnDbeyond never gave pdf, except for a pdf version of your character sheet. The book you buy here is the compendium. Click in the top bar on sources, then show all sources. There is your book.

Never have, and they never promised a PDF, nor did they say they were selling you one.
I have access to the book in my mobile app and here. Which is what they sold to me.
It was a bit later than expected, but still arrived on the day. I did have to sync my entitlements.

While they apparently do not exist now, Wizards did, indeed, provide downloadable PDFs of the basic D&D rules set (of which revised editions were occasionally released). One should remember that 5th edition was published in 2014, but D&D Beyond wasn't created until 2017 (by Curse) and was only acquired by Wizards/Hasbro in 2022. Prior to that, Wizards provided downloadable PDFs of the basic rules, even going so far as to separate them into a Players' guide and a DM's guide. Remnants of this can be seen via some old URLs listed in DDB Support documentation (such as URLs ending with "...com/articles/features/basicrules" and "...com/products/tabletop-games/trpg-resources") all of which now redirect to one of several D&D Beyond webpages about how to get started playing D&D (one of which is actually the Basic Rules -- go figure!), but sadly, no downloadable PDF. For a game that purports to be playable strictly by pen and paper,* one is required to do a lot of internet accessing before actually playing.
(Purchased rules and adventures, however, were never provided in PDF form as far as I know, until they were offered on the Dungeon Master's Guild.)

You can buy the books physically, photocopy a character sheet and fill it out without once ever going online. I’m not sure how you think a pdf (which requires you to go online to download) would *remove* the need for online access

Sorry but i can't seem to find a link anywhere.
So do we even get a PDF?

They’ve never done PDFs for anything. You can download and use the free basic rules and use all of its content on the character builder

There is no pdf. If you want it locally on your device you download the DnDBeyond App and download it that way.
