I'm not sure where to post this, so it's going in the general discussion.
I'd like to create a character not unlike Zagreus from the video game Hades. Any thoughts on what species, background, feats, class, subclass, and/or multiclass combo would fit well as a close D&D Zagreus player character equivalent? My first idea was some kind of paladin, warlock, and/or cleric mashup, but those seem like obvious choices for their entanglements with gods and other such beings. Even then, which subclass(es)? Zagreus, in the video game, is meant to be pretty versatile depending on his weapon, boons, and keepsakes. That makes kind of difficult to nail down. As far as species goes, I think Aasimar or Tiefling likely make sense. I have no clue about background. Do you guys have any thoughts or recommendations on what a Zagreus inspired character build would look like? What options would fit best? I'm curious as to what you think.

Honestly, I think the fact that he uses a wide variety of weapons, and has various special moves he can do with each of them, screams Battle Master Fighter to me. Maybe some levels of Warlock to capture the idea of the Boons granted by the various gods.
Since he's the child of both a "lower" god and an "upper" goddess, either Tiefling or Aasimar seem like valid species choices. But Tiefling seems a little more aesthetically on-brand.
The Noble background seems like it might be a good choice, though I think given the nature of his upbringing you could also make a case for Urchin (or its 2024 analog, Wayfarer).
I would say Zagreus is more of an Eldritch Knight than Battlemaster - mixing martial and arcane disciplines.
A Cthonic Tiefling would fit Zagreus rather nicely: "Tieflings who have the chthonic legacy feel not only the tug of Carceri but also the greed of Gehenna and the gloom of Hades. Some of these tieflings look cadaverous. Others possess the unearthly beauty of a succubus, or they have physical features in common, with a night hag, a yugoloth, or some other Neutral Evil fiendish ancestor."
