In 3 weeks I'll be running "the sunless citadel" and the map images from D&D beyond measure in original size 6.7 by 13.9 inches and 11 by 14.5 inches and there are DM and player versions of each.. Fedex/kinkos the only place around me that I'm aware of offers a temporary poster option for $1.99 per sq ft. However that would cost $10 for them at original size and $21 if the player maps are double original size. Compared to printing over multiple 8.5 by 11 (or 8.5 by 14 or 11 by 17) sheets (assuming they can do that) at like a fraction of the cost. For original size one 8 by 14 sheet and one 11 by 17 sheet (I'm guessing under $2 for all 4 for B&W) and if only double original size of player maps: span 3 11 by 17 landscape and 4 11 by 17 landscape (I'm guessing about $4 total DM original sized and players double sized). But is doing the player maps double original useful or make a difference to the players over the original size? My idea was to possibly do one of two things. Use sheets of paper to cover the unexplored areas or cut the print outs into pieces where each piece contains one room and them placing the pieces as they explore. With these ideas in mind what do ya'll think I should do? Thanks.
I don’t know about a PC, but if you want it in sheets on a MacBook you can print based on the size you want it. Watch the number of pages that it says you are printing. I got mine to 3 pages by 4 pages (use scaling in advanced options). Taped it all together. It didn’t look as good as the one I got printed in one piece at Costco, but it would give you more control over what is shown. If you didn’t tape it, you would have one page at a time to show.
