One of my players is currently using a Rogue character based on Carmen Sandiego. He also previously played a super high charisma rogue in a Pathfinder game based off of Gatsby from The Great Gatsby.
I recently created a Half Orc Barbarian, so far so normal. His backstory is that he was a Human Alchemist who specialized in transformation potions, one night while trying to increase the duration there was an accident. His transformation is now permanent, however he kept his intelligence. He is looking for a way to reverse it but he has also found he really likes fighting. His name is Eric Ensign, but he now goes by Colossus. No prizes for guessing my inspiration.

Ran a campaign in discworld years ago, so many of the characters got their versions done,
All plans turn into, run into the room waving a sword and see what happens from there, once the first die gets rolled
Me and my boyfriend both do a lot of writing, so we've actually made characters based on people from our works.
