Question! I run a campaign where most of the players are here in my living room but my brother is on the other side of the country face timing in. We point the iPad camera at the tactical board with minis and we hear him though an external speaker.
I use a lot of ambient music through spotify and SFX through Syrinscape to liven up the room and he "kind of" hears it on his end through the open mic.
My question is can I run this through discord with him coming through the chat in video, but also being able to hear my music on spotify and sfx on his end through discord rather than something that cuts in and out when he talks on face time. I know discord has a, listen to the selection on spotify option, but I'm not sure if its just a link to the same track or if its a live stream to what I'm doing on spotify. Anyone know or have some suggestions to throw our way? Thanks.
If he is a Spotify premium member, he can "Listen Along With" you while you have spotify playing locally. The non-premium "Listen with Spotify" will only start the track from the beginning on his end.
Another option would be to run a discord bot (such as Dyno) and configure a playlist, or run music on demand. You could then both listen to the output together, as the bot would be broadcasting the music within the channel. You would need to work out the volume levels (or use Discord's feature "Priority Speaker") when he talks to lower the musical playback coming through during these periods.
I've run into a problem already. I go to the dynobot site in the top right I see my server name I authorize it goes to another page and says select a server but it gives me no options to do so. If I click authorize it says I haven't selected a server. If I click on the tab to select a server I can't type anything or select anything. There's just a blank drop down menu that says select server and has no other spaces or options. Anyone else run into this?

Please let me know what you think!
That sounds great....Sorry for the ignorance but how do I do that? LOL.
Is Dyno something outside of Discord? Or is it some setting or addon to Discord.
I'm a spotify premium member if that makes a difference, or would we both have to be?
Dyno is a bot for discord you have to add to your channel. Just google Dyno Discord and it'll explain how it works and how to set it up.
As for the premium you both have to be, at least that is what I remember.
Thanks I'll check it out.
