The Oath of Heroism seems to be basically be Greek Heroes, though it kind of also work with Norse and Germanic lore. For Norse: Odin, Thor, and Tyr. For Greek: Zeus, Ares, Artemis, Heracles, and Nike. Forgotten Realms: Helm, Malar, Talos, Tempus, Torm (generic Paladin god), and Tyr (again). For Eberron: Balinor, Dol Dorn, The Silver Flame, and The Path of Light.
Depends on what kind of character you want to play, really. if you want to play an oath of devotion (E.G), then I would pick Eldath (goddess of peace), but if your looking at the heroism oath then go for Helm or Ilmater (protection and endurance, respectively). those are just the forgotten realms though, so... yeah.

What God(s) would work well with the paladin oath of heroism?
A lot. Probably any. Paladins aren't thematically linked to gods in 5e.
For forgotten realms (list here https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/phb/appendix-b-gods-of-the-multiverse): Helm, Ilmater (maybe), Torm, and Tyr are all good choices.
I do recommend a god that symbolizes courage, strength, or other strong, powerful, positive representations?
Thankful to find this thread! I've struggled finding compendium material on the different Gods and a good description of them.
