This is a call ... a plea ... and I invite you to join me.
Let's enjoy the "off brand" and "alternate world" sourcebooks that we have to date and maybe ... give them a little rest.
Because it's time for any combination of Desert of Desolation and/or Al-Qadim. Even Day of Al-Akbar ... seriously. Let's get back to the desert and jungles and pyramids. There is amazing space and climates to explore that deserve 5th edition attention.
Finally, please send a message to Wizards and cry "NO MORE BLACK and WHITE MAPS". I can draw them, you can draw them, we don't need to pay money to have someone else draw them. Please return to the incredible colour maps that can then be enlarged into battlemaps that actually enhance the play experience (on or offline). When you have talent like Schley, Blando and Engle ... please use them, pay them what they are worth. Their art is worth it when a customer is paying as much as we do for hardcover books.
Agree on the maps. One of the reasons I got into DnDBeyond was because of the ability to use the good looking maps on a TV at a table or online. The last few releases have had some pretty bland maps.
