The map above is one I made for Saltmarsh. The orange numbers correspond to the building numbers on the map from Ghosts of Saltmarsh. Also shown are the NPCs, our PCs, organizations, locations, and ships. The lines among the objects show various types of relationships. Lines between people usually denote friendships. A line from a person to an organization would denote membership. A line from a person to a building shows that they might be found there. Clicking on any circle brings up its properties, which I’ve linked to content in DnDBeyond.
This helps me literally see how everything connects. I can zoom, pan, and filter. The links are dynamic. If I drag a person out from the center, all the connections move with it. It shakes the whole map in a satisfying way.
For my next trick, I’m going to try to convert a small adventure to this kind of map. The numbers will correspond to rooms.
So far, I’m using the free-to-use only features on Kumu.io. If I like it, I’ll splurge on a membership.

I’ll start by saying I have nothing to do with kudu.io; it’s just a tool I stumbled upon.
