Rereading the best manga ever, second to non, best of the best, anime okay went down hill. Master of fantasy, and dark stories. Fmab best anime ever but this isn't about alchemy.
Since the new source book came out, I found a lv 14 build that is the closest to the black swordman. But if you all have better builds please post them for big pp energy.
Variant human- asi( strength and intelligence) pick intimidation for skill, and have the tough feat cause the hard childhood made you tougher than Donovan stare.
the haunted one background, have Investigation and arcana for skills, choose sylvan and infernal but you don't really need them.
Standard arrays- str15, con14, int13 for mult-class, dex12, wis10, and 8 for charisma, you scary but not a good talker.
fighter with athletic and insight proficiencies, blind fighting from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything instead of great weapon fighting cause we getting a feat that replace that, this give a six sense like ability 10 feet around the player, sees invisible monsters, and make sense cause of the one eye.
Skipping to 3rd lv with battle master pick lunging attack, sweeping attack to increase the size of the dragon slayer and riposte for maneuvers. Get savage attacker feat on 4th-level and great weapon master for 6th-level.
Next barbarian to 3rd lv get totem path bear or wolf for beast of darkness.
Now for that intelligence score.
Some might have thought wizard for this but people with big pp know that artificer is the game. For Cantrips have fire bolt and mending. Spells false life and feather fall, pick any spells you like in the spell list for later.
You want this at 3rd lv. Infusion are enhanced weapon, enhanced defense, repeating shot, and the most overpower magic item.... THE CLOAK OF BILLOWING!
Get artillerist for eldritch cannon arm or armorer for berserker armor magic.
Put barbarian and ariticer to 4th level and get the alert and lucky feats. Now you got guts from berserk what do you guys think?
Honestly, D&D doesn't really do Anime very well. It's a very different genre, and I'd advise people who want to play Anime based characters to use a different game that's built for it. It's really the same with Star Wars, or comic book characters.
I have no clue who the Black Swordsman was, nor have I read the manga Master of Fantasy. Six levels of Battle Master, 3 levels of Barbarian, 4 levels of Artificer, with some Warlock invocations and Wizard cantrips. He's partially blind, but his fighting style gets around it so he doesn't have to take a specific feat. I think he might have taken more feats than possible, I can't be sure, I lost count. That's really the problem with this character. He's got countless ways to succeed at everything, and almost no limitations of any kind.
He's great. he's so great that I wouldn't dream of letting someone play that as a character in my games.

No extra feats, also not a single actual ASI (highest stat is a 15 Str). It's a 14th level character and as far as I can tell in no way out of line for that level. No real exploits, most of the feats aren't considered particularly powerful, magic tops out at three 1st level spell slots, Path of the Totem Warrior is a very solid Barbarian subclass but the char only has three rages per long rest, none of the subclasses go beyond the basic level. Don't get me wrong: it looks fun and isn't subpar in any way either, but I don't see any reason to think this character is so great it should be problematic.
I agree but this man literally in the story killed over hundreds of billions of demon-like monsters by himself to climb out of hell just to survive and lived the most brutal life some of the stuff he's done and happened to him is forbidden to talk about period

Let's not get crazy, he hasn't done THAT much. We're it not for the skull knight, he would have died in the sacrificial ritual. He killed a hundred men in one night, but not all at once. He's fought big creatures, sea god included, but by then it's with the aid of the berserker armor.
Point being, yes he's practically superhuman, but more than that he's always had help and luck, ironically enough.
