This is a story about a world named New Alderis, and a small floating continent, a safe haven known as Asteria; the Arcanian Frontier.
With great seas that never seem to end and the oceans continue on a never-ending horizon of islands and continents to explore. The land of Asteria itself is vast and wondrous, at the very cusp of an industrial and magical revolution, with several technologies and revolutionary ideas jump-starting the growth of several nations. With religion and science becoming revered by all nations. Whereas, magic is to be feared and rare in some places, with some being more accepting of it. The world is inflicted with a devastating curse, one that is fated to eventually consume all of Asteria.
Hey! My name's River, and I'm currently looking for 1-2 players to join an ongoing homebrew campaign with 3 other players. The players are currently level 6 (Circle of Stars Druid, Echo Knight Fighter, and Arcane Trickster Rogue) and are delving deep below the mountains in an abandoned mineshaft in search of a Doppelgänger Plant that had been consuming the people of Erencrest City and creating podlings that they send out in the city.
The general theme of Asteria: The Arcanian Frontier is Studio Ghibli-esque, high fantasy, whimsical, with occasional serious and dark elements.
We play weekly on Fridays from 6pm-10pm CST (central timezone) having run 30 sessions already.
The campaign is roleplay heavy, with sessions that can have several (1-3) encounters/combats to sessions with absolutely no combat. I am looking for creative players that love roleplay and creating characters that are well integrated into my lore-heavy world. Backstories will be integrated into the world and character arcs/plot hooks in backstories will be explored across this long-term campaign. If you are a player that likes to make conversations with the other players and NPCs, interact with the world I provide, are willing to follow a complex storyline that we are telling, and actively participate in the game, then this campaign is perfect for you! In terms of characters/players, I'm looking for characters that are capable of aligning/cooperating with the party; arguments, rivalries, and disagreements exist, but D&D is a cooperative storytelling game, and we honestly can't have that if your character isn't open to adventuring with the party.
I am looking for players that will pay attention during sessions and actively participate.
I'm a lenient Dungeon Master and I'm open for most if not all ideas! All I ask is you communicate with me.
