Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online/Voice Experience: 5+years Location/Timezone:CST Availability: Whenever, see below Preferred role: Player Game style: Heavy RP, Mature, Long-term, HOMEBREW ONLY, Foundry VTT preferred
About: My name is Tanner and I am 27 years old in America, Central Time. I have been playing DnD since college. I have been DMing the same group of people for about 3.5 years now across 2 homebrew campaigns I wrote the current of which has over 120 NPCs and hundreds of pages of lore, and numerous maps. I am one week from finishing another 1-year-plus-long campaign as a player as well, so I am capable of committing to something long-term. Three of the five players in my homebrew campaign are over 50 years old, and two in the campaign I just finished were over 40, so I am perfectly comfortable playing with and being amongst people older than me.
What I am Looking For: I am looking to join a HOMEBREW campaign with heavy RP, but that doesn't mean I don't like interesting combat. I greatly prefer an older and more serious crowd but am willing to try playing with people younger than me if the group is committed to RP. I prefer a long-term campaign but am open to something shorter or coming to an end if it's with the right people. I am open to starting a fresh campaign or joining something ongoing. I have used almost exclusively FoundryVTT as a DM and player (outside of IRL) so I prefer that, but I am open to other VTTs if I don't have to pay a recurring price to use the service. I have never played an evil campaign, but I have an interest in something like that as well.
Availability: I am available any time of any day except Sunday nights, which is when I DM my campaign. Here is the bad part about me... I am a firefighter in real life so I work a strange schedule that will require me to ultimately miss 1/3 of sessions. I work a 9-day rotating schedule where I can essentially be at any time 6 weeks in a row, then miss 3 weeks in a row. I know this sounds bad, but I have been playing and DMing this way for years and it works pretty OK. I am open to playing any class except paladin since that is what I have been recently playing for over a year.

Here are two character backstories I have played recently: Tavum X, Oath of Vengence Paladin: Orphaned by war Tavum was taken in by the Order of The Silver Dragon at a young age and given the surname Argyn. Growing up he showed little promise as a soldier or leader. One day, for an unknown reason, Argynvost and most other members of the Order of the Silver Dragon disappeared leaving Tavum Argyn and some of his fellow soldiers behind. Feeling betrayed, lost, and abandoned Tavum cast aside his surname becoming Tavum X, and abandoned the few remaining disciples of Argynvost, taking up the Oath of Conquest, never to be too weak to be left behind again...(The following happened later and was added partway through the campaign) Having been contacted by the spirit of Argynvost Tavum renews his vows to the great Silver Dragon taking up the Oath of Vengence instead. He keeps the last name X to stay in hiding but has pledged to avenge Argynvost's and his orders eradication.
Beref Datsk, Inquisitive Rogue: I am a Goblin who was adopted by two human wizards, raised to eventually teach at the College of Abjuration, just like them. Unfortunately, it was clear very early on that my affinity for magic was nil, and perhaps even worse than nothing... Even though I am a failure to my parents at least I was able to cast a spell that permanently turned my adopted brother into a cat, and now he follows me everywhere!! The years of private tutoring and intense study I was forced to go through have sharpened my mind in ways other than the arcane. Now I teach motivation and life-skill classes at the Wizard's college and am a part-time detective on the side. My father's best friend has gone missing; now is my time to prove to everyone at the college that I can be useful. Detective Datsk is at your service!
I have 83 DMs Guild books I am willing to share with the DM and have many years of homebrew DM experience that I can offer in addition to being a good player at the table.
