Hi! My name is Pablo, I'm a 20 year old aspiring DM from Spain!
I'm looking for a group of players to play in my homebrew campaign set in a homebrew setting.
This post might end up a bit on the long side, but due to my past experiences playing with strangers I'd rather be as clear and descriptive as possible on the scope of my game and all
the juicy details.

1. First things first. Are you a good fit for the game?
I'm looking for players that really enjoy roleplaying as their characters and interacting with others in the group, this is a collaborative effort after all.
please no loner edgy characters! I don't want to stop the game for your 30th nightly escapade while the rest of the group is sleeping so you can do dark edgy stuff.

So here's the overall guide to know if you would be a nice match with the game we're trying to run:

-You're 20+ years old. This is very important since the game will most than likely explore mature themes, plus I'm looking to create a relaxed and cheeky atmosphere with mature people that don't mind acting silly for a little game.

-You enjoy roleplaying as your character, fleshing out their backstory and getting to know everyone else's characters in detail!
I'm not looking for the next oscar worthy performance out of anyone, you do as much as you're comfortable with, but just describing what your character says OOC isn't
gonna cut it I'm afraid.
-You're not a min-maxer that likes to crunch numbers for the biggest damage possible every single combat turn. I'm aware that D&D is a game, but I'm much more interested
in running a game where combat is part of the narrative, not the focus. STILL I put effort into my encounters, after all they shouldn't be boring, we're all just trying to have fun.
-You never meta game. It's important that your actions are believable for your character, even if it means you lose out on some cool stuff or even (I sure hope not) results in a pc's death. Speaking of which, my next point is:
-You keep cool. I'm trying to keep a non-toxic, laid back vibe, if you freak out every time things don't your way in a game of chance like D&D, you're
probably better off sitting this one out.
-You're communicative. Interviews will be carried out on all promising players by myself, I will ask you questions about your preferences and such. I'm looking for people that know
what they want, their strengths and weaknesses as a player and are willing to compromise often with the rest of the group.
-You're open minded and interested in stepping out of your comfort zone every now and then. When assembling a group over the internet, chances are everyone is gonna come from
very different places and cultures, so keeping a level headed and open mind is key to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere at our digital table and crucial for forming friendships with the
rest of the group!
-Last, but not least... You have a computer, a decent enough microphone and a quiet space to play in. There are always exceptions to be made in certain situations, but if you're playing
over your phone or your connection is spotty or there's constant background noise... It's just going to be detrimental for everyone's experience.

If you're still here, congrats! You're probably a good match for the game I'm trying to create here.

2.What's the game about?
Without dumping all the lore and turning this into a very very long post the game is set in an unusual high fantasy world named Plethia where gods are regularly involved in the political
matters of all the nations. Kings, emperors and such work hard to gain the favor and boons of different deities that allow them to thrive or even assert dominance against others.
The campaign will take place in a single continent named Lanaris that has all sorts of juicy things going on that you'll have to discover.
The game will start at level 1 and will go on until we're either satisfied or something else happens lol.

Somewhat out of the scope of this question is the matter of creating your characters, but I will address it here nonetheless.
You are free to approach me with any ideas for your characters, but I would like for it to be a collaborative process between you and me and maybe even another player or players.
I will do my best to help you personally integrate your amazing character into the world so that you can truly immerse yourselves in the game. 

3. Great! So when are we playing and where do you sign up?
So, after all this if you're still interested and willing you just have to do 1 little thing. Reply to this thread with a short (or long) post about the kind of player you are, what you enjoy about
playing D&D the most and any other cool details you'd like to add, the more the merrier!
Once you've done that you should also add your discord user to the post, if you hear back from me congrats! I'm seriously considering you as a player and I'd like to hear more about you.
The matter of when is up to the group as a whole. I have almost all weekdays mostly free after like 4 p.m. and weekends are a bit more complicated, but also a possibility for me.

4.A final note!
I hope you all understand why a post this rigorous is necessary. For shorter games or one shots there's no need for all this screening, but if what you're looking for is a group that can get along and enjoy playing together for a foreseeable future you truly need to make sure everyone is a good fit for each other!

heya! im a 3 year online dm hoping to see the other side of the screen after all that time. ive had little experience as a player (being able to keep a single group for 2 years has to mean im something doing right,yeah?)

i enjoy roleplay and politics the most, and it seems that this game will have that in spades, I have regular experience with handling mature themes with respect in my own games. My Roleplay style tends to be in First person and i enjoy taking "sub optimal" choices for my characters for style points or roleplay reasons.  I have a large vault of characters tthat im sure i can bend and fit into your world to blend them in a great way.

as for age, im 21. and for time im free Mondays all day and Wednesday and Thursday  evenings as i have college classes those days. I really hope to hear back from you as i love worlds with central, Involved pantheons and high fantasy is a huge plus too!

This campaign setting and setup sounds right up my street, I'm 25, live in the UK and have played D&D (all in person so far) on and off over 7 years with all sorts of classes - many sub-optimal choices but I'm not competitive so would rather pick something I can enjoy! I'm also happy to play anything and will gladly work with you and others in developing a character, as the thing my games so far have been missing is the deeper background and lore which I would be keen to delve into and flesh out.

Your post sounds just about perfect :)  I'm playing in a role playing heavy game in person right now and it's wonderful. Just finished up an online role play heavy ToA also believe it or not. I really enjoy roleplay as the basis for dnd experiences. Role play flavored combat, personalized magic, and getting to know backstories is fabulous. 

I've been playing awhile now, several years, but am in no way a know it all lol. I love casting classes, but have played a rogue too. I enjoy the process of developing a character and her backstory and would love to work with a creative DM on that. 

I'm available weekdays currently, I have a bit of DnD and other stuff on the weekends at this time so that would be tougher. Looking forward to getting to know you. I'm in the USA, but flexible on timing mostly.

Hey there! I have been playing D&D for about 9ish years strong now and my love for the game has never died and never will, I am not a number cruncher I enjoy rewarding creativity more then anything! It is one of the main reason I love playing with people who are new to the game because they arent hindered by the rules that have been set on others over the years, They have a fresh look at spells and how they can be used or just things in general, I prefer to be a backline character (Mage) mostly as I love the creativity that comes along with the magic one can wield, The control water cantrip my be my favorite cantrip of all time just for the amount of creative interesting things you can do with it! same with druid craft and spells that are usless in combat but add sosososo much to RP. my name is Linda and I am 27 years old. I have been playing dnd for about four years on and off with friends both IRL and on roll20/discord.
I love exploring my characters, building their backstories, seeing how their past influences them in their current state and how new experiences shape them in the future. The relations (may they be good or bad) my characters have with other PCs or NPCs are another thing I have fun with. Likewise, I enjoy exploring new worlds and lore, solving puzzles, and handing out the occasional well-placed whack on the head.

Have been searching for a game like this for  a few weeks.

Although i have not played a lot of DnD i'm really enthusiastic about playing, since i have recently played baldurs gate and have a general interest in fantasy and lately in the world of DnD. Years ago i actually had a group of friends i played with, but the campaign sadly ended since my mates werent so invested into the game as i was, also i was really the only one kinda trying to roleplay. Recently i have been trying to get onto as many games as i can to learn to get better, so i have played a few rounds of very homebrew one-shot content.

Anyway id like to be part of your game because you clearly show as much (probably more) enthusiasm for the game as i have, ive been searching for a invested longterm group for a while now and so this post really hit the nail on the head. As for what character id like to play im very open to play whatever and then make up a interesting backstory, as i sometimes do that in my free time for random characters anyway, id probably play something simple so i can concentrate on the roleplay aspect.

Hi there!! I am 29 and I have been playing dnd off and on for about 15 years as a player. I really love the concept that you have for your game so far. The current VC game I am apart of is ending to due reasons outside of my control. I love making characters that I can really sink my teeth into whether that is through picking a particular class or fleshing out the backstory with a ton more information than necessary. Hello, I've been both a player and a DM before, with most recent experience being a DM. Overall experience lapses around 5 years total experience. Overall I definitly more enjoy the roleplaying side of the game, and I love the opportunities that spells and skills give to generate roleplaying opportunities, especially ones that have just never been done before. Im pretty laid back and easy going, and most games ending with most players still wanting to play the game with me directly in some capacity. At this point I'm just looking for a chance to kick pack, relax and create a character that allows me and my new companions to just have fun first and foremost.
