Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online is most likely Experience: Brand New (or Newish) Location/Timezone: East Coast USA (NC) Schedule: 1 weekend / Month (possibly more) Roles sought: Players, 3-5 Game style: Basic D&D
I've been in and out of pen and paper roleplaying for years; I've GMed Star Wars D20 and various editions of D&D over the years. Lately I've been looking to design "The Perfect RPG Setting (TM)", but I'm creatively stuck, and I believe partly it's because I've been away from the simple act of DMing so long -- I want to get back into the swing again and just have some fun.
I'm not designing a campaign since I have creative work already on the side, so I'm not looking for players with enough experience with D&D that they have preferences or pre-conceived notions about what they want out of the game, or who have seen a lot and want something new and novel. I'm loooking for players who are new enough that all they know is they want to try some D&D and have fun. I myself am an introvert and I am sure there are others out there like me who are kind of shy, lack confidence, etc but who have been curious and wanting to play D&D: to you, you are especially quite welcome (and you're also welcome if you're not an introvert, of course -- or familiar with older editions of D&D and interested to play the 5E starter set).
We will play through the D&D Starter Set using premade characters. This means that when we have scheduled our first day to play we can play immediately. If this group sticks around and forms into a campaign, we can continue into further WotC published adventures. The only thing you will need is free software to play online and a mic or webcam for play. My Discord is RabidHobbit#7578, feel free to "greet me from the Beyond" :) Even though I usually run "PG" to "PG-13" games (no mature content), the acceptable age is 16+ and able to behave maturely around any adults that may be in the group. Younger players joining with a parent is fine. We will have a social contract that we will agree upon before play. Best wishes on your many journeys!
