I am looking to see who would be interested in a campaign based in the Elder Scrolls landscape and based on the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Tabletop RPG system for 5e. I'm helping the DM recruit for a Monday game based on the world of Elder Scrolls 6pm Est Time Slot
About the Game
"I am still work shopping a few story hooks and ideas for main driving forces of exploration, but I want to try to wait and see what players join and what characters are made before a concrete campaign is made. There are a few different paths I'd love to explore, most with an angle of politics within Skyrim and the remnants of the Stormcloaks / Imperials. The over-arching story will however involve what comes next after the dragons have been eliminated.
About The DM
A little about me, I am a fairly new DM but have always had a passion for Roleplay and have become fully immersed in 5e thanks to Covid and Roll20. I am part of the Army so I do love some good ol' fashioned violence every now and then, but am in love with creative shenanigans to either make the combat a little easier or avoid it entirely. The part that has me excited about playing a campaign in Tamriel (Skyrim specifically) is the aspect that everyone (nearly) has been introduced and are beloved by everyone who has played Skyrim. This makes deaths of NPCs, introductions, alliances, enemies, everything has more weight behind it.
If you want more information about the campaign, please message me on Discord: KnightLife#8811. For everyone that's interested, please fill out the quick boi application and we can start our adventure! And please, don't be intimidated by not knowing anything about the Elder Scrolls; I'm not hunting for lore masters, I'm here to make a great story with some amazing players!
Experience with the Elder Scrolls lore: I completed Skyrim and Oblivion. I tried the MMO but it took up A LOT of memory.
Experience with RP and DnD: I played Call of Cthulu and Star Wars. I've been playing D&D since 2012 and DM'ing for almost as long.
Previous modules / campaigns played: Quite a few Homebrew campaigns and one-shots, as far as modules I've played CoS, Storm King's Thunder, LMoP, , Dragon of Icespire Peak.
What do you like most in an adventure: I like a game I can become emotionally invested in.
What do you look for in a good party companion: Someone who is attuned to the personalities at the table and makes an effort to make sure everyone gets their chance to shine.
What do you look for in a good DM: A DM who has fun. If a DM isn't having fun there is no way they can help their players have fun. People can't give what they don't have.
Experience with the Elder Scrolls lore: played through skyrim multiple times, but not very well versed in the entire lore of tamriel and most other things
Experience with RP and DnD: have been playing for a couple months, and am currently in a few other campaigns, along with watching a few dnd games/podcasts
Previous modules / campaigns played: i've only ever played homebrew games, never done any modules
What do you like most in an adventure: a sense of the pc actually making a difference in the world when very heavy actions are taken, and also getting invested in what could happen in the consequences of a pc action for the general world
What do you look for in a good party companion: someone who knows how to act as their pc in both jovial time, and heart-felt heavy character moments
What do you look for in a good DM: a dm who can really tie in characters to the story to make them feel like apart of the world
Experience with the Elder Scrolls lore: Ive played both Skyrim and Oblivion. I finished skyrim but not Oblivion. I downloaded the mmo but did not enjoy the game play
Experience with RP and DnD: Ive played alot from when i was in college i am 35 now, its been a few years and i recently got back into it big time
Previous modules / campaigns played: Homebrew games mostly and some oneshots
What do you like most in an adventure: roleplaying and getting to delve into who my character is
What do you look for in a good party companion: well im not looking to take an arrow to the knee but i want them to have my back in a fight
What do you look for in a good DM: someone who keeps the story going, does not try to control every situation by being to stict and can enjoy being entertianed even if the story takes a turn they were not expecting. I don't want a dm who is gonna be butt hurt that the story has taken on a life of it's own and decides to off the whole party
Experience with the Elder Scrolls lore: Asides from what Skyrim and ESO provides. Not a lot.
Experience with RP and DnD: A lot really, I'm still new to acting as my character but I've been role playing for a few years now. I've been playing D&D 5e for two years now as Well and DMed a couple of times.
Previous modules / campaigns played: Only Homebrew 5e
What do you like most in an adventure: Plot Twists? Hard to say really I do enjoy the adventure and exploration of towns and characters. How small things turned out to be big things or how things can easily be twisted around. Which is rare. It's not often I find a campaign where your choices actually mattered or any exploration even mattered at all. When everything you do has a consequence.
What do you look for in a good party companion: Not Murder Hobos. People who are interested in the story and scene as well. It's great to see a player come across a town's cultural event and actually want to study and learn about to see if it is important for what might happen in our game... Rather than just ignore everything and go get a drink at the nearest tavern and bask in all that sweet Edginess of Pure Edge of Edge Lords
What do you look for in a good DM: As explained earlier. Someone who can really use most of the things you do and use your background as well. Everything matters be it big or small.
Experience with the Elder Scrolls lore: Put in hundreds of hours into Oblivion and 1000+ in Skyrim, familiar with the lore and some of the history around those games but not super familiar with the ancient history of previous Eras.
Experience with RP and DnD: Mostly GM for small groups of friends and family, looking to actually play for once
Previous modules / campaigns played: Some generic D&D and some Eberron homebrew campaigns
What do you like most in an adventure: The unexpected! The interplay between the GM and the party to make the adventure unique!
What do you look for in a good party companion: Players whose characters want to be adventurers and don't need to be prompted at the start of every adventure why their character should want to play the game they showed up for.
What do you look for in a good DM: Someone who can go with the flow and can have respect for other players boundries. No railroaded torture or sexual assault if your players are uncomfortable with it please! Other than that I would say a DM as excited to play as the players are!
Experience with the Elder Scrolls lore: 300 hours in Skyrim (mostly doing new builds and adding MODS)
Experience with RP and DnD: Pretty new! I love improve stuff and have been watching DnD streams for awhile. I have a few ideas in mind for this!
Previous modules / campaigns played: Starting 3 campaigns right now, I've still yet to play as of today. I've build a few characters in D&D and beyond and have a general grasp on mechanics.
What do you like most in an adventure: Good RP and creative use of abilities!
What do you look for in a good party companion: Someone who is totaly thinking in the mind of their character and what they know.
What do you look for in a good DM: Someone helpful to newer players and creates opportunities for characters to RP.
