Glowkindle led the group inside his brewery and ushered them toward a closed door that led into the cellars. The sturdy oaken door had no lock or crossbar, but it did have a few crates stacked against it, presumably to keep anything from pushing the door open from the cellar-side.
"This is as far as I go." Glowkindle said with an ominous chill.
He indicated a pile of fresh torches. "It's dark down there ..."

Navrine follows Cassian, lit torch in her off hand, with both feet and free hands ready for action or reaction. peering into the darkness illuminated by the torch.
The wooden stairs creaked underfoot as the heroes descended into the cellar, each groaning step amplified by the heavy silence below. The air grew cooler, carrying with it the sharp tang of beer mingled with the musty scent of damp fur.
From somewhere in the darkness came the unnerving sound of claws scraping against the flagstone, the faint squeaking of unseen creatures echoed off the stone walls. It was a low, persistent noise that set the hairs on the back of the neck on edge, as though something was watching. Waiting.
The cellar had been swallowed by darkness, but Navrine’s torch did much to illuminate the immediate area. Barrels and casks were stacked haphazardly across the floor, creating narrow passageways that obscured the full scope of the room. Toward the far end, the faint outline of a dirt floor could just be made out, littered with scattered stones and abandoned tools. There, the shadows seemed to deepen, where the scrabbling of claws grew louder and more ominous.
Just then, five hulking rats, each the size of a large dog, slinked out of the shadows. Their matted fur was stretched impossibly tight over unnaturally swollen muscles. Their eyes glowed faintly with an eerie, alchemical green, and along their limbs, faint, vein-like patterns shimmered as if pulsing with magic.
They bared jagged, yellowed teeth, and hissed with a hunger that promised it would tear into any flesh that crossed their path.
Only two heroes will begin round 1 on the map and you will have to fight/push your way into the cellar. It is a bit hard to see but Chromir and Cassian are on a staircase that descends to this level. Navrine is directly behind Cassian and can enter the map with 5’ of movement. Doc is behind Navrine and may enter the map with 10’ of movement. The yellow circle is the radius of bright light illuminated by Navrine’s torch. Due to the torchlight, everything outside of this circle will count as dimly lit, and everything inside of it will count as brightly lit. The squares occupied by barrels and such will count as difficult terrain.
Please roll initiative and declare actions with your next post. The giant rats will act on init count 6. From this point forward, it’s okay if the posts do not necessarily reflect the init order. If I have to deconflict actions or movement after the fact, that is fine by me.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Doc follows as last, shield in one hand, spear in the other and a mace on his back. As he sets the first steps on the wooden stairs, he focusses his mind so he will feel every tremor of the stones he expects in the cellar (activating Stonecunning, tremorsense).
Init: 7
((from alert feet: Immediately after you roll Initiative, you can swap your Initiative with the Initiative of one willing ally in the same combat. You can’t make this swap if you or the ally has the Incapacitated condition.
I think it would be good if Doc could go first, but not a complete necessity of course.))

He then swings his greataxe hard at Rat 3 hoping to kill it and step onto it so that more people can enter melee, without triggering an AoO.

With Doc and Chromir's init swapped Doc immediately casts Bless on the others.

Navrine tenses ready for battle. (Initiative: 14+5 for 19)Shesees Cassian and Chromir ahead of her on the stairs rush into combat, she jumps toward the nearest foe and unleashes an unarmed strike against the nearest rat. (Unarmed strike: attack roll 20+5 for 25 if it hits, it would do 10 points of Bludgeoning damage.) Bonus action: Navrine lashes out with a roundhouse kick at the same opponent. (Unarmed strike: attack roll 9+5 for 14 if it hits, it would do 7 points of Bludgeoning damage). Refocusing on the combat, she awaits the next onslaught.
Navrine leapt forward, her fist and her feet were a blur as they found their mark on the first rat’s skull, then the second’s throat, each beast crumpling to the ground before they could even react. [Reminder, after rolling a 20, there is no 'if' the attack hits. It does, and it is a critical hit.]
Doc followed, his hobnailed boots landing on the flagstone with a dull thud. Gods, but it was good to be beneath the earth again! Now that he was upon the earth, his dwarven senses reached out ... farther than the others could see. Through slight tremors in the flagstones beneath his feet, the cleric knew that this room was absolutely full of rats ... and one of them was quite larger and heavier than the others. He counted ten in all.
As he waded into the fray, Doc stowed his spear and muttered a dwarven blessing, casting a glow of divine favor over his allies. [The spell, Bless, has somatic components and requires a free hand to cast.]
Cassian swept forward, opting to flank the barbarian on his right side. His longsword gleamed in the torch light as he drove it down through a rat’s spine, ending its threat in a single, clean strike. [Cassian's desired movement was unworkable because Navrine acted first and took out those opponents. I had Cassian move right instead of left.]
Finally, Chromir, grinned as he hefted his great axe high, and brought it down with a brutal force, cleaving through two more of the monstrous rats in one massive swing.
Five of the grotesque things had been dispatched ... but there were more in the cellar. Five more, to be exact. Except one of them was even larger than the others. The next wave of rats closed in on the party, teeth gnashing.
Navrine was bit by one but managed to fend off another.
Cassian's knightly armor protected him from the vermin's attacks.
Chromir was faced with two new opponents ... including the larger specimen. Their eager jaws found purchase and pierced the enraged barbarian's flesh! The larger rat then shook its head violently and knocked the goliath down!

6 - Rat #10, Move, Attack Chromir, a hit, knocking Chromir prone! [3hp, reduced to 1hp]
Cassian is horrified to see the others getting hurt, especially Chromir by what seems to be the leader of the rats, but realizes all he can do it keep cutting through the enemies for now.
Doc reaches for his spear again, now he doesn't need his hands free and throws it over Chromir who is now down on the ground at rat#10 and remains standing where he is now, knowing it should be easy to keep concentrating on Bless this way.

She sees Chromir get knocked down and thinks “Well this isn't going well!” She considers attacking the large rat that knocked Chromir down. As she prepares for another onslaught.
Chromir doesn't flinch as the smaller rat attacks, the damage barely leaving more than a scratch. Then as the leader bites and it feels like a pin pick he laughs, but this is enough for him to let his guard down and get flung to the floor by the unexpected strength of the rat. He stands up (half movement) "Ahh, a worthy challenger" and he swings his axe hard at the leader, the follow through catching Rat 7.
