The magic store is lavishly decorated, with velvet curtains, elegant wallpaper, and playing music. Inside there is a carved desk with a catalog on it and a portly, bearded duergar behind it with an authentic looking smile plastered on his face. "Welcome to the Al-Assad Magic Store! Take a look into our catalog if you want to buy something. We sell scrolls too! We got several animate objects in stock!"
Following Bel away from Will, Socarin says "Maybe a map of Ederay would be beneficial but in regards to supplies I believe I am in a fine state. I believe I saw a book store near the tavern they may have what we are looking for and even some information before we go."
As you enter the book store, a smell hits your nasal area, overpowering all other scents with wood and crisp paper. The salesman, an elderly halfling with a prominent beard greets you with a wave. "Hello! May I help you with anything?" His voice, although squeaky, sounds friendly and trustworthy.
"Hello, good fellow. I'm not sure if I need one of those, but I'll have a look, as you suggested," Darion replied. He began to leaf through the catalog, looking for divination and illusion spells- and maybe a conjuring spell of some sort.
Socarin turns to the book store owner, "Hello, we are in need of a map. In particular one showing the area of Ederay and the surrounding areas around there. Would you have that in stock at the moment?"
Socarin: "Why, yes! We have old, new, and used maps. Here, have this one. Its detailed and contains highlights for Ederay plus it has a complementary scroll holder! That will be 17 gp."
Darion: An odd item catches your eye - Incense of Summoning. The catalog lists it as a conjuration magic item.
While walking up the the library Bel spots a store that catches her eye.
"Hey you go on ahead I want to check this place out, and I don't think you'd be as interested." She points just around the corner at a small tailor's shop. She then smiles and says, "I'll be quick and meet you at the tavern, tell the others if you see them to do the same!"
Inside the tailor's shop there is music playing. Several people are sitting down waiting for their clothes, and the tailor - a halfling, looks positively flustered. "Hello! Welcome to my store! If you need anything, wait a while. Then ask me! Ummm.... What? You want it blue? Fine.... I suppose."
"That is some fine looking maps. Do you mind if I have a look at it before I decide to buy? Just want to make sure it has the areas that we require on it."
Gary doesn't think anything is amiss, so he says to the innkeeper "Thank you for the advice." He then turns to Mjoll and says "Mjoll, I'm going to stop and pick up some supplies for the journey. As my high priest used to say, it's always best to be prepared."
Gary then heads out towards the market in order to pick up some fresh food to supplement his rations, mainly fruits, vegetables, and bread. He would like to get enough for 2 days worth of meals for 5 people. After that, he wants to pick up 5 days worth of rations for himself as well.
(PHB does not list prices for fresh food, so I'll need to know what that is going to run me. Rations are listed as 5 sp for 1 day in the PHB, but let me know what the provisioning store here charges for them as well.)
After picking up the food, Gary then looks around for either Darion or Bel (Passive Perception 22; I assume after 20-30 minutes of walking around I'd run into one of them or Socarin and be informed to rendezvous at the tavern, at which point Gary heads back there).
Sacorin: "Great" The bookkeeper beams. "Just gotta draw it up on some random D&D website first!" (lol sorry for the meta, but really.)
Gary: Fresh food is more expensive and may spoil. If you buy a ready meal (1 meal for 1) it lasts a good week before expiration. Costs about 5 sp, but if you buy sandwiches (bread with meat and lettuce), its 2 for 1 person and about 1 sp and lasts also a week if refrigerated. Otherwise it lasts 2-3 days.
"Oh! You have good taste sir! When lit and smoking for a good time, this incense will summon an ally! A magical helpful ally! But he lasts for a while, so do your stuff, and after an hour - poof! Ally gone! But don't worry, you light again and he come back! Only 80 gold sir!"
Bel looks around at all the clothes and eventually decides on a lightweight, sleeve-less dress colored green white and yellow. It fits her quite well and seems more fitting rather than the paler colors she was previously wearing. "I believe this will do! How much for this set?"
"If the custom tailoring can be done quickly then i'd be happy to pay the extra bit of gold!" Bel smiles and pays for the dress to be fitted and leaves for the tavern after picking up some extra items from shops nearby.
(OOC: Bel picks up hempen rope 1gp, grappling hook 2gp, Healers kit 5gp, Spring Clothes 25?gp, for a grand total of 33gp )

Socarin looks over the map taking in every feature, all location names and trails soak into his mind. He has never seen or held a map so well made or so detailed. He closes his eyes picturing everything he has just seen, opens his eyes again to confirm his mental image. Once Socarin is happy he can recall all details as needed he turns to the book seller.
"I am not sure this is the area we are actually after. I am sorry to have wasted your time." Deception 11
After checking the sad state of his coinpurse and how full his backpack is, Gary decides to forego the fresh food for now. He still picks up the 5 days of rations and heads to the tavern to meet up with the others.

Darion cleared his throat, catching the attention of the shopkeep. "This... Incense of Summoning. What does it do, exactly? I'm very curious."
