"a livery thats one of the few things we dont have here well that and a brewery, i dont rekon anyone has any horses to sell either, wagons yes horses no, sorry,
A bright grin spreads across Rehgys' face as the constable gives his take on the matters. Turning to all, Rehgys beams: "This is a great opportunity, if we show this town a kindness, I can make certain that every shopkeeper knows we're the reason that the trade flows back through Red Larch. I'm willing to wager some might find that prospect good enough to offer us their very own horses. All that's needed is a little persuasion. And I for my part happily try and persuade a villager for an hour, if it means we can safe three because we have good transportation."

Otherwise he gets back to scribbling rapidly on a parchment. He glances at the constable, “A left ear from each is standard fare, but perhaps otherwise a sufficient binding of hair, along with a detailed description of each individual? Is this acceptable? Current payment of 15 gold per.”
He turns to kerric, “I am ready to go now. I was already prepared sufficiently for nature travel.”

"Excellent. We shall head out and look for signs of bandit activity along the Cairn road," says Kerric, considering going shopping at this point unhelpful given the slimness of his coinpurse and the miniscule likelihood of quality wares in town to rival the craft of the elves. Once the others are ready (and the constable has delivered any last-minute advice), starts his march down the road to hunt some bandits...

Looking a bit confused “what good is a wagon if there’s no horses to pull it? Are there other beasts of burden that could do it? Further, could we perhaps have a wagon on loan with enough beasts to pull it along so that we can bring back the ... uh ... proof that you’ve requested?” Xalkas asks of the constable in as diplomatic a manner as he can muster.
Rehgys, thoroughly displeased that they do not get to charm and persuade any local formars to loan their group a wagon for the day, quickly cheers up at the prospect of adventure, and giggles to themselves about the fact that tiefling T completely abandonend any attempts to get the constable to sign anything. "If you'd all like, I could sing us all a ballad to get into the spirit of things as we walk. That's the silver lining of traveling by foot and hoof I guess."

Before they leave, Kerric gets some of his coinage changed into copper, strapping the large, jingling pouch to his waist. “Bait,” he says simply.
Smiling at the satyr, Kerric says, “That would be pleasant once we are out of the town. I am used to cadences chanted in Elven, but I would be interested in hearing your repertoire, especially any tales of the First World.”

“That’d be music to my ears.” After what seemed like eons, the monk would finally pipe up with a slight smirk in response to the satyr after silently padding along like a shadow to the group.
you take the road leaving the eastern edge of town, it is a nice day considering sun is shining, there is a gentle breeze rustling the grasses and bushes on the hills, all seems quiet, almost too quiet, there are occasional sounds (and sights) of birds but nothing much else
(you have been on the road about 3 hours perception checks everyone :) )

Kerric:
Walking down the road with his companions and affecting a carefree demeanor, Kerric lets the pouch full of (copper) coins jingle on his belt. Secretly, though, he is on high alert for bandits, especially when reasonable cover exists near the edge of the road (tall grasses, trees, etc.)

Once the monk has familiarized herself with each unique footstep and accompanying sounds of her new band of companions, Ebele would fall back in the group as they carried on further down the road. It’d be easier for her to study the sounds of her surrounding without their footsteps so close now that she was used to them. Her chin would be tilted up as she walked, hearing, and even smelling as she marched along.

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker waits for the party to leave. Once away he hands a contract to the Constable. He engages him for a few minutes seeking to have paperwork signed regarding the bounty. He then jogs to catch up to the group. Once on the road he walks next to each party member in turn. He chats amicably, once in a while taking time to himself to scribble on a contract as he walks.

Xalkas walks near the back of the group near Ebele, hoping to have some more of her delicious berry cider. Eyes peeled for potential bandits (see previous post #93 for perception roll)
**going to call Rehgys mentally distracted at the moment
As you are all walking Ebele and Xalkas pick up a slight sent of wood smoke to the south east (kind of to your right) with a slight underlying scent of... is that boar?
Xalkas says quietly to the rest of the group “Be on your guard! It seems we are not alone anymore” pointing to where the smell is coming from, “It would seem there is, or at the very least was, someone else in that direction.”
