Interested in purchasing a new campaign and starting to read, get familiar with and plan around. You know, generally geek out about and get excited for.
Anyone have any thoughts on which campaigns work better for PBP (or perhaps it's much the same as being in person).
Open to anything really - not just the WotC stuff. I am taken by the Curse of Strahd but I wonder if a shorter campaign might be suited to PBP?
The folks at Trilemma Adventures do a great job with, what are effectively, one-shot adventures that I have found work very well for PBP play. I have run at least two of these here on this site and my play-group had a wonderful time.
All of them are mostly system agnostic, so you can plug-and-play with whatever actual monsters you think best represent the challenges listed in each adventure or maybe even make some custom monsters as your creativity demands. All of them are solid "one-shot" games that can provide several weeks to a couple months of PBP play depending on how fast you party rolls. And all of them can serve as interesting jumping-off points to a broader adventure.

Thanks! Having a quick look at a couple of them they look very intriguing. Always up for supporting indie devs. Is there a list anywhere? Couldn't see on their website but maybe because I'm on a phone at the mo. EDIT: Found a list using desktop browser!
Is it much work to flesh them out? I've only ran WoTC stuff before.
Not lot of work. Mostly it's just sliding in some monsters that fit the adventure and maybe setting up a nearby town with a problem that leads to the adventure. If you want to see how I handled the two I ran here, see the links below:
