I'm running Dragon of Icespire Peak from the essentials kit as my first ever campaign as a DM, one of my players chose for a warlock and I love that this character has some "boss" it has to listen to, so I want to integrate it into the campaign (they are currently lvl 3).
Lorcan is the patron for this specific character, and I was thinking about having a devil (imp?) show up during/after a long rest and forwarding a demand from Lorcan to go do one of the sidequests described in the adventure. I am thinking about using the Tower of Storms, a lighthouse on a cliff where the light is a magically enhanced beating heart that lures ships to their doom, the adventure states this heart cannot be moved, sothe devil could bring a bag of holding that is just big enough to fit the heart, and be moved in that way.
I would love to get some feedback about this idea.
Working a PC's patron into a campaign is always a good idea. I wouldn't focus on the text that says the heart can't be moved, I would instead think about - why would the patron want the heart in the first place? Is it part of some larger ritual? Does the patron have some sort of slight against Talos?
I would try to flesh out the patron and their goals a bit more and then use that to develop how the PC's interact with the heart.
