I'm fairly certain this will be a no but can't help asking. I want to create the BBEG for a campaign I'm running centred around the dead three. I'm my game world Bhaal has already returned to godhood leaving Bane and Myrkul to wither away. Their followers have used a ritual to implant the essence of them both into a mortal vessel whilst they try to resurrect them. What i want to do is have an encounter where they fight the vessel and at a certain point Bane takes over the body and it gains some much nastier abilities, then later Myrkul takes over and it get different abilities and so on and so forth. Dealing with the abilities in creation is easy enough I can just give him all the abilities and in the description add ONLY BANE, ONLY MYRKUL etc. However I want them to have different stats reflecting that Bane is a fighter, Myrkul a mage. Is it possible to have two seperate statblocks when homebrewing a monster on the creator here, or is my only option making two separate monsters and adding them both to the encounter and activating/deactivating the different forms when they are in play?
If it was possible then it would have been done for one of the creatures in the published Icewind Dale campaign. Instead that creature is represented by three different stat blocks reflecting the three stages of the possible fight.
