I have an idea for a character who has been reborn with limited memory of her past. When she levels up, she receives a vision from her past. Any ideas on creating a class that progresses memories with each level up? I'm new to DMing and can't find anything like this any where.
StylesStriker had a good idea. You could also create literally any magical caster in the game and flavor their new spells each level as them "remembering" their past.
As Pantagruel said....this isn't anywhere near enough to begin making an entire class from. It's just flavor text that can be applied to any base.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
As others have said, flavor is free. This character concept can be done with literally any class.
I have a character whose an Air Genasi, Genie (Djinni) Warlock, that I flavored as being a genie that was cursed to live as a mortal, so the character has no patron, and the class levels are just the character regaining lost power as the powerful curse weakens.
I've known other players to play an old, retired fighter or paladin, who has to re-learn their skills as they're called back to action.

It's flavor text -- use normal class progression and describe it as recovering lost memories.
Race/Species: Kalashtar, or Reborn
Class: Rogue
Subclass: Phantom
Good jumping off points. They have mechanics related to this.

Successfully completed the Tomb of Horrors module (as part of playing Tomb of Annihilation) with no party deaths!
